Maybe not where, but if you already have a profession or experience in one field and intent to work in the same stuff you can put that down.

If not then maybe someone else will have a better input than me biggrin.gif

We put down a job that my husband's been offered. But, I would think that if there is no job offer already, to put down a general field of work (i.e. marketing).

I put my current occupation - which I will more then likely continue in...IT Software QA

As per recommended by the wonderful Nolo book on K1s, I put: UNKNOWN.

This is perfectly acceptable.

Retail is always a good catch-all. How come no one ever puts Phrenologist? laughing.gif

I wrote Hairstylist even though I am looking for a career change. I was asked at the interview what kind of work I plan to do in the US- I said Hair or Floral.

my husband was asked at the interview what he was planning on doing. followed by the question of why any US company would want to hire an archaeologist. Just pick some logical occupation and be ready to talk about opportunities in that general field at your interview

that's what I wanted him to say, instead he was all boring with historic preservation legal talk. his Canadian politeness wouldn't allow him to make blunt political observations. I'm trying to get him over that-he's in Merca now, we don't like that polite ######
