Hi Alll,
I went through the process of getting the marriage certificate at the Chinese consulate here in the US. I now have the document with the offical approval seal on it. My question to those that have married in China is this all I need on my part, along with the passport type picture of the two of us together and of course her required documents? I am starting to get nervous that everything is in line.
Thank you,
Aries52
Sorry, What I am also asking is do I still need to get the pages on my divoce translated or is the Singles Certificate with the Chinese consulate approval on it be enough.
Thanks again,
Aries52
This can vary with each County "Marriage to foreigner" office. In Nanning, I had to get my divorce decrees translated. It cost about $500 and was done in about three hours. It's best to have your fiancee check with them directly. If you can scan and email or fax what you have, she can take it in and show them what you have, to determine what, if anything, is still needed.
In this process, it is best to call things by their real name. What you have is a certified "Affidavit of Single Status" not a "Marriage Certificate". Once married, you'll have a little red passport size book certifying your marriage. You'll need to go back to the Notarial office and get Notarial translations of that. I suggest three originals.
