I received my packet yesterday morning and i went to bpi to pay the $131 visa interview fee today...
I'm planning to have my early physical exam tomorrow instead of January 30...i hope it'll only take 1 day to finish...
Who's going to have early medicals tomorrow?
Hope we can get together....=)

my advice, just go to SLEC really early to avoid the crowd...

Hello everyone... I'm glad to see some progress in here... but I haven't received my Packet 4 yet... :-( I already planned to have an early Medical on January 23 instead of February 1. I have read from K1 Guidelines and it says I can just call SLEC for Packet pick up. But my questions are:

1. If I'm planning for early Medical, is it "COMPULSORY" to call SLEC before I'll have my early Medical? Or I can just go to SLEC and bring the required documents?
2. And in case I'll call SLEC for Packet 4 pick up but days before or after the early medical, DHL will deliver my Packet 4, I would have 2 Packets then, am I right? Does it happen before? Is this the usual scenario if one would call for Packet pickup at SLEC? One would eventually have 2 Packets?

I'm a little confused. I'm not so sure if it is COMPULSORY to call SLEC for Packet pickup before my plan early Medical on January 23. My flight is already booked and ready for that day, as well as my leave of absence from work. I also have the needed documents for the Medical too.

I would really welcome your inputs.

I spoke to a NVC rep yesterday.. I was harassing her on when do I get Interview date. lolz..

Here is how she break it down..

NVC schedules Interview appointment for CR/IR applicants. They are being scheduled starting the 2nd week of the month.

USEM schelues Interview appointment for K1/K3 applicants. They are being scheduled on the 1st 2 weeks of the month..

This is what she explained to me..

That is why I still have my hopes for a Feb Interview since I haven't seen/heard any CR/IR appointments being posted yet..

I kept on harassing her about the Interview question.. I guess she got fed up and told me They would try their very best to put me in Feb. But can't promise me.. No prediction or whatsoever..

Hi Honeybear,it will be nice to see you there.She is getting worried now because she is 3 months pregnant.Now i am worried about her medical i am praying that everything will go ok.She was going to do her medical next week but now she will go there on the 15.She is from Cebu and her sister will fly to manila with her so that she will not be alone there.I am taking the whole month of Feb. off to be with her.I will arrive in manila on the 3rd,if everything works out we with fly back to the U.S. on the 14TH.I hope we both get approved.

hi captainjeff228! I assume you already have your plane tickets to USA. Where did you purchased it? Don't worry with the interview, as long as she has all the documents and the fact that you are coming with her on the interview is a very good factor. God answers prayers! God bless us all!!!

I got my tickets through Orbitz. I found that through kayak.com. I got hers through expedia. If The interview gets held up I can get a refund with a small panalty

Thanks for the reply Tim! So far, the cheapest we found is from PAL. It's kind of difficult for my fiance to get a roundtrip wherein the return should be the same as mine. Though I've seen that Stibnite has done it and a few others. BTW, just keep on praying coz God works miracles. God bless us all!!!

I was lucky with mine because I found a return flight together to BOI. I had to agree to a 7 hour lay over in Portland but it is okay we will be waiting together. God willing. I am praying so hard that my Baby's medical is released so our interview can go as planned. Her sister is marring my best friend and they went together to there medical. On her sisters x-ray they saw something suspicious so they are holding my Baby's medical for the result of her sisters first three days Sputum Test.

I can understand her anxiety but as long as she has her medical & immunization records with her, everything will be fine...The SLEC staff are very polite and nice. It's a good thing her sister is accompanying her at SLEC coz the hardest part of doing the medical at SLEC is the waiting for the release of your results..
I just finished mine earlier (2nd day medical for immunizations and results realeasing) ...i got there at 6:30 am and i got called for my immunization at 9am (i only had MMR) and my results were released at 1pm...i waited 4 hours at the releasing area (granted that i could have gone out of the clinic to eat but i did not want to miss my name being called).
I hope her experience would be better since i dont think she will be given any vaccinations given her present situation...

By the way you should tell ur fiance to look for her chicken pox scars and immunizations marks on her body...doctors looked for it, hehe!

Normally, NVC schedules CR/IR visas the last week and/or sometimes spill over into the first week of the month. This was the trend the last few months.

I am not sure about lucky, we were approved in October.

As far as I can see.. You guys get your Interview date really early.. Like 2 months before the Interview..

I was seeing Feb K Interviews Last month..

In our case.. We can have a Case Complete from NVC on January and will get an Interview date next month..

I was under the same impression

I guess I do not see the logic in waiting 75 days after approval for an interview as being lucky since the K visas are suppose to be 3 to 6 months faster than a CR1.

However, I consider getting an immigrant visa a month quicker than our K3 as being very fortunate. You two have been blessed with a shorter than average wait time.

Been blessed? I think were just about the real correct timeline of a CR/IR case..

I think the blessing is for not getting an RFE.. If you say my case is fast, I didn't even use James Shortcut..

The bottom line is I like where am @ right now.. But I want to know my Interview date already so I can book my flight to the Philippines..

Instead of waiting for NVC to send the Packet to you.. As soon as it generate on their system.. If you follow JS you will be able to submit it and get everything approved before you received the original packet that they sent you..

Roserick, the overall average for a CR1/IR1 in the last year is 350 days. As of January 10 the average is only 276 days. I am happy your timeline is better than most.
