Wow, so much has changed since I last looked at the processes almost two years ago. And back then, we were only considering the K-1 fiancee visa, so I never actually looked too deeply into the K-3 option. I remember every time I tried to go through the different paperwork processes, my head would spin, and it's doing that again now X_x I don't think my firefox has had so many tabs open since I last looked at these things.

I've read the K-3 guide, it's very nice and straight-forward, but I'm wondering, is it current? Still accurate with all the changes that have been made?

It sounds like I, as the US citizen, have to be in the USA when I file for Martin's Immigrant Visa (citizen of the Netherlands). I know that can't be true because the US consulate in Amsterdam offers not only the initial petition filing, but also the second-step paperwork process in anticipation for the approval of the I-130. Or am I wrong there, too? D:

Is there a current up-to-date to-do list for all the steps one takes from filing for a full visa to arrival in the States (including all the fees, it would be nice to have them in one place)? Or was that K-3 guide the best there is? And is this as stupid of a question as it sounds? -hides-

Edit: I lied, looked like I was back here in July asking about DCF vs the K-3.

I still need hand-holding ;_; What the heck is the difference between the DCF and the K-3 and how on earth do I begin finding significant information (closed all those tabs, by the way >_>)? Google is my enemy at this point sleep.gif

DCF is a way of filing an I-130 for a CR1 or IR1 visa. It requires both the husband and wife reside together abroad. It is not for K3. Try reading the DCF guide.

You'll want to read some of the threads discussing whether to skip the K3 and just stick with a CR or IR visa.
