Hi again, now a days i am in a hurry to collect informations and advices from you people because Jan is coming and Michelle should get the packet ready to send it to Service and we need some kind of explaination ,we have talked last night on the phone about it so here i am here trying to ask you guys but first leme tell you the story .

Michelle is temporarily now living with her Aunt and her furniture and stuff are in storage and she is looking for a place ,she makes anough money to have her own place and take care of her life and all she doesnt even need a co sponsor ,last night she said maybe it wont matter if she sends the petition to service and use her aunt's adress and when she gets her own place she can change adress on forms etc i think its possible online at uscis.com ...so my question is it ok if she sends packet and use her aunt's adress that she is staying with her now or not she needs to wait till she moves ?
and regarding i-134 i think its not included with packet and that should be with the document that are requiered during interview in Casa RIGHT???
and last question is ,we re submitting some evidences and relationships proofs with forms etc in packet, but everything will be just copies because original ones we re keeping them for intervie date ,so rings receips and boardings and stuff like this will be just copies ,so is that fine ??
please sorry if i sound stupid or somthing i just want to make sure we dont screw up anything even tough guides can explain well though, thanks in advance all.
ahhhhhhhh i almost forgot ,we also would like to know for how long should we wait on the Noa1 and Noa2.

Sincerly Ahmed.

Welcome to VJ and MENA, Ahmed.

Yes your fiance can send the paperwork now and then make an address change when she moves. It's best to get your petition filed as soon as you can -- it may take up to 6 months (or possibly more in rare cases) to complete processing at USCIS. Which service center are you dealing with ? Some of them are moving faster than others.

Someone will be along shortly with personal experience with Casa, but I am thinking Casa does not require the affidavit of support stuff for the K visas at the interview -- I think you provide this later on during the adjustment of status (after the immigrant has arrived in the U.S.)

Copies of this stuff is fine. (Make sure to have certified copies where indicated -- like official documents such as birth certificates, etc.)

Don't worry -- your questions are not stupid at all. This process can be complicated and very confusing. There are lots of folks around here with extensive experience with the Casablanca consulate so you will get lots of help and advice.

Haha that's the million dollar question. Well again, a lot of it depends on which service center is handling your case. Normally, you should get an NOA #1 within 30 days or so of them receiving your case. After that -- well, be prepared to wait several months for the NOA #2.... even 5 or 6. You may get lucky and get done early -- some cases zoom through in less than 2 months. You can check the timelines for your service center.

Good luck to you and your fiance !

the support paper is not reqd now out of casa, be sure originals are sent when noted they are required. Understand this application is exactly what they will be looking at in casa before and during your interview so make as complete as you can. Lately at interviews they dont even take the time to look at things you bring if they already have made their mind up before you arrive even. Time wise is anyones guess as of lately we first filed in november and he had interview in april but im understanding alot has changed since then.

I was in a very similar situation as your fiancee. I lived with my sister all throughout our process, actually until after my then-fiance received his visa. I got an apartment just before he came. I used my sister's address anywhere it asked for a physical address, but everywhere else, I used a PO box, which costs us about $5 a month. When he arrived, he used our new physical address on his AOS paperwork where it asked for that, but otherwise, he continued to use the PO box (I put a label inside both mailboxes with both of our names so the Postal Service wouldn't send anything back). Nothing was ever mailed to my sister's house. We've received a couple of AOS things at our apartment so far. This way, we haven't had to do a change of address and risk any confusion. On the K-1 paperwork, where it asked where he would be living, we put "To be determined, Nameofcity, South Carolina." No one ever asked him for an exact address where he would be living. I don't think they even asked him when he arrived at JFK, although he knew both our new apartment's address and my sister's just in case. They can ask, so be sure you know.

Good luck.

Ahlan Ahmed,
Nice to meet you.
Yes, i agree with all the posts above. File the petition right away because it is taking a lot of time to get the NOA2 (i am speaking from experience huh.gif ).

No worries for the address. i have been using my parents' permanent address, although i don't live there. it is more reliable than my current address. We are not going to change because my parents live close enough to where i currently reside and work, it is the same service area.

i do know someone who received a 221g for not having the affadavit of support during the interview at Casa, but i believe that was for a K3 visa. To be safe, because i hear Casa is very demanding, i'm going to do all the documents of support and have them ready when inchallah habibi has his interview. But in any event, you do not need them now to file the original petition.

Copies are fine unless otherwise noted... but file soon, because this process is so long and heartbreaking...

Good luck everyone, i hope all of us receive some good news soon.

B'salaama,
hz

Salaam Ahmed,
How are you?
No, for me, I haven't changed my address and I'm not planning on it for now. I am worried that if hayati doesn't get his visa, I will have to move back to Morocco. For this reason, I am not trying to sign a lease or housing contract until I know for sure he is coming. I used my parents' address for the G325 and the I129f. I believe that all my documents are being sent to my lawyer's office because my current residence keeps changing.

For the support, your fiancee has to show that she earns more than $17,900 (or something like that) a year so she can provide for two people. They will want to know if she has a job, and they will also look at her bank statements and tax returns.

Haath Sa3id and many good things,

hz

p.s.
Can anyone else offer some insight? I don't want to tell Ahmed not to change his address, if indeed, his situation is a little different, perhaps there is a better option for them? (I can only speak for my own petition.... and I still have a long way to go.... ClockWatch2.gif )

No, you don't need I-134 for the interview, but you will need I-864 ( affidavit of support) for AOS.

I am in a similar situation - I live in New York on a librarian's salary(working for a private institution, not the city/county which pays more) and as you know housing is tight here even for middle class folks... I am living with a roommate(the lease is in their name) and that is the only way I am able to afford traveling to Nepal and paying for all of the visa-related expenses now. If Govi's visa is denied then I will be going back to Nepal, so I am in the same boat - will not even think about signing a lease until it is certain that he is coming - we may not even get a place of our own until Govi finds a job, if we go the CR-1 route and he gets the GC right away. So I am using my roommate's address as my permant address. There are immigrants(legal ones) who sleep 7 to a room to make ends meet in this city so I am sure interviewers here will understand our situation. I would use your aunt's address as your permanent address if you are sure she won't be moving anytime soon.
