Is it NORMAL that for 5 months almost 6 months i have checked online for my status on my case and it has only said pending ?? Is that normal or should they have posted any other information. On the boards everyone keeps saying case "touched" I dont even know if my case has been LOOKed at after recieving a WAC number?? helpsmilie.gif

Unfortunately... yes. The only times mine was touched was after congressional inquiries which didn't speed up the process. After I was at almost 7 months my coungressional rep called again and it was approved the next day. Check around other's timelines and you will see that your timeline is quite normal. Sad but true.

Yep, perfectly normal. Most cases get approved without any touches until the actual approval. Some get touched while their case is being adjudicated. A touch is when you login to you online portfoliio at USCIS.gov and see that they last update date on your file was changed. The status after a touch does not necassarily change. The change in date means that someone, somewhere, for some reason touched your file. Some touches are generated as Banfield noted by congressional inquiries, by your own call to USCIS if you get through to the service center. But theese toiuches don't speed up your approval.
