Wow that is so awesome to see this list with practically no one left waiting for their visas!!! Is it that we just don't have as many peeps going through Egypt anymore or are they just THAT fast now that there's no need for the wait list posting?

God willing they are moving faster NOW! Woohoo. I was so afraid after reading all the past horror stories but I have talked to and met nothing but amazingly nice and helpful people from start to finish with the K-1. YAY!!

Assalamu Alaiykum everyone

I was hoping who ever is creating the list for people waiting for interviews could add my husband and I to the list (we filed K1). Our petition was approved 4/21, and the embassy received it on 5/4. We still have not gotten packet 3 from the embassy (Cairo), and my husband has gone there once a week since the second week it got there to see when he should be receiving the packet and have been told next week each time...Very frustrated and discouraged right now. I don't know what to do at this point since I have no way to track it and they keep telling him the same thing every time he goes. Anyone have any ideas?? We were hoping to be past packet three and waiting for the 4th packet by now

Have you emailed the embassy? I emailed them with our CRO number as title and asked when it would be sent....typically we received responses within 2 to 3 days. Both of us sent separate emails so that we could attack on both ends!! :0) Wishing you guys the best...feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. isA you hear soon!!!

P.S.---Packet 3 had everything and I checked the embassy website daily for interview dates after we submitted and we found out before the "interview" letter came to confirm his date.

I have emailed the embassy twice now requesting information on our case status and they have never emailed me back. Gamal is going back to the embassy tomorrow to see if he can get a direct answer because I have seen that most people receive packet three within a week of it arriving and its been over 3 for us. I'm a bit spastic about it all, hate not having control of it or knowing what is going on. Insha allah we will at least get an answer other than next week!

GRRR....How frustrating! Don't give up, keep at them then and have ur fiance email toooo!! inshaAllah, you will hear by next week. I am the same way...I hate not having control OR getting a response!

Hopefully he'll have good luck. When my husband got his packet 3 it was missing some of the more important documents so he just went straight to the embassy, showed him what he had and they gave him the rest of the documents.

As an update......Ahmed had a second interview at the Cairo Embassy June 2, 2008. Before the interview we were in review. Since the interview we have been put back into administrative processing. He left without an answer.

Not sure what that means besides the fact that we are still waiting his visa.

Insha'allah this is very good news. We've seen a lot of cases that sat on the shelf for a year, then suddenly got a call for a second interview, and were issued the visas very soon afterwards. Did they ask for further or updated information ? Sometimes they just need to refresh the file with current info. I know you're hesitant to get your hopes up, but insha'allah this is a very encouraging sign -- hopefully your case is being dusted off and readied for completion.

They did ask for updated information. Everything we filled out before the first interview expired, and we had to update all the paperwork and redo medical again.

Mr. Dilworth, the acting visa chief interviewed Ahmed. He asked very few questions, and had Ahmed sign some forms. Mr. Dilworth replied to an inquiry we wrote after the interview . He stated the validity of a bonafide relationship is established, and we are now in administrative processing with the majority of cases at this stage concluded in a matter of weeks.

It sounds promising, yes. Ahmed kept asking me what he means by "a matter of weeks". I told him with the Cairo Embassy, that could mean anything from 2 weeks to eternity. We just have to wait and see.

Lets hope it is sooner rather than later.
