Hi,

We filed to get my wife's condition removed from her permanent residency. We mailed the I-751 on October 17, and on November 10 received the NOA1 (I-797C) confirming receipt of the I-751. The Notice date is 10/19/2007. Problem is it seems like we're supposed to have received the ASC letter for biometric processing by now.... and the biometrics usually is one month after the notice date. Well... its been more than a month. I called the customer service telephone 800 375 5283 two weeks ago. The rep couldnt find our case by receipt number or A number but took all our information and said a message would be forwarded. What do I do... it seems plausible the AC/biometrics got lost in the mail?? Who do I call?

advice is appreciated - thanks!

Best thing to do is make an InfoPass appointment with your local USCIS office.

The biometrics appointments scheduling is done by the local ASCs, not the service centers. For some ASCs (namely Tampa, FL) it takes a very long time for the biometrics appointment letter to arrive.

Of course you could always try your luck doing a walk-in...

My ASC notice was sent from CSC, not the local ASC. That said, scheduling depends on the workload at the individual ASC. Each ASC is supposed to reserve a certain number of slots for different types of applications.

Better to check on the status than risk being denied because the biometrics notice got lost in the mail.
