my husband never got an NOA1 for his I765 ap. He did get a biometrics letter, went to the appointment and all was well. Well, he lost his job sad.gif So...he is now looking for a job and I know there is going to be an issue with his expired GC. We also only have a SS card that says he has to have DHS permission to work. What should we do? Make an infopass appointment? I just don't want to hinder his ability to get a new job. Thanks for your help smile.gif

Infopass sounds like a good idea to me.
Good luck, L.

USCIS usually issues a kind of letter / receipt note that states he filed for lifting of conditions and extend his GC for one year, meaning he is allowed to work and travel during this time.

Because he has a restricted social security card, an I-551 stamp in his passport is the only way he will be able to show eligibility to work.

It's InfoPass time.

Get the passport stamped! You should have done that by now anyway, as you have to be able to produce some kind of evidence of your legal status at all times.

Actually, look at the sig -- the husband has the I-751 NOA1, which is evidence of legal presence. It's the EAD (I-765) NOA1 that he doesn't have (hence the restricted SS card). The I-751 NOA1 and an expired green card are not among the documents one can produce to show employment eligibility. The choices in our cases are either an unrestricted SS card or a passport with the I-551 stamp.
