Time only fles when you are having fun.....Are you having fun yet Mirla because I am not.......I have heard nothing since I overnight reciept requested my RFE forms......and I had to cancel my trip to Lima....and I miss Oscar......7 months is a long time.....It has been 211 since I sent in the petition and seen Oscar.......Come on VSC........Mirla and Charlene have waited 8 months.....Virgil and Ric have waited 7 month with nothing and Steph and I have waited 7 months with RFE's..HELLO....dead driver at the wheel....Can anyone resusitate them........this is enough........

By the way Bill....you are right my lawyer SUCKS......I wrote a letter to get some of my money back.......I probably stuck being he is a lawyer and I signed a contract but I will annoy him to death....I have plenty of time to wait NOW.............

Fantastic work Trinner!!! Its interesting that there was a surge in October. Wonder why? But its good to see so much progress! I just wish VSC would hurry up and settle the backlog from May & June. Its pathetic that some people from those months are still waiting.

What a week it has been...we had the interview Monday and they said expect the visa in hand in about 8 business days ...well...she got it this morning!!!!!!!!!

The best Birthday present i have gotten in years!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing that had me a little stressed is that as soon as she called me this morning and told me she got it i called my travel agent and booked flights fopr Tuesday....after booking them he called me back and said that tghere was a special coming up on the 29th ....what i will be paying for Tuesday's flights is $1200...on the 29th it would be $700 ....

I think i rather have her here quicker but it would have been nice to save the $500 extra

Hey congratulations on your approval. I don't know if you are looking for opinions on your flight, but I would recommend waiting the extra time(although easier said than done), that way she isn't rushing to pack up and saying goodbye to family. Then she can make sure everything is all set there and you have everything ready for her here. Again, easier said than done, plus an extra $500 is always nice! Good luck! Either way, she will be here in less than a month!

Congrats! I cant wait til thats my biggest issue. Is there any way that you can change the flight to save the $500? Im sure you cant wait especially after all this long wait, but remember, you have her for the rest of your life. Yall can sure do something special or add that $500 to your wedding budget. On the other hand, i checked my e-mail yesterday for the first time.
We have an RFE. i am devastated. i know it could just be nothing.
But what if it is some big problem. i thought we filed all the papers well.
Apparently, we have to wait until the letter arrives in the mail to know
exactly what the problem is? Is this true? Should i bother calling across the ocean?

Sorry to hear about the RFE. You will have to wait until you get the letter. They won't tell you anything if you call. It is probably something simple that you can fix quickly. Don't panic!! Good luck!

I understand completely. I was a nervous wreck when I heard I was getting an RFE and I knew what it was about....

I am not sure when you are getting back, but mine took about 4-5 days to get to me. Good luck and keep us posted!!!!

when you sent in the RFE how long was it before the website showed that they continues to process the petition.....I sent my 1 week ago and nothing

I overnighted it on a Friday, 12/14 for them to get it Monday, 12/17. The site reflected they received it and resumed processing on 12/18. On the advice of others on VJ, I wrote RFE all over the envelope. I am not sure whether that helped.

Anybody know how to file of a formal request for service? You have to wait a month after 6 months to do so, yes? Well, that's Sunday. So, any tips guys? My congressman has been no help whatsoever. Once, they gave me the same line that the Customer Service folk did, and the second time I received no response at all.

This is what the website says:
If at any point your case should become more than 30 days outside our normal processing time, and you haven't received a written decision or update from us within the last 60 days, you can help us by calling customer service and letting us know. We will research your case, see what needs to be done to get it processed, and get back to you with an explanation.

Forget them......Do the rfe thing and act innocent about how you got there....that was what made mine move....of course I got an RFE but at least I knew they had it..........Customer Service just runs interference for USCIS

That's what I do, but I get different answers about my status every single time. It's with them on the 24th Nov, the 28th Nov, soon, wait two weeks, soon, wait two weeks, the 28th DECMEMBER.

I understand believe me......I was told mine was with an adjudicator from Nov. 1 then Nov. 17, then Nov. 28th, then Dec. 12.......Finally touched Dec 12 from a change of address.....this really old lady talked with me rustled paper and started talking to me about my application.....I think she was the adjudicator......that is why I think she pulled the crate from June first week which we are all in and is slowly.....very slowly breathing and working on them.....Virgil said the same thing that he got a touch after changing his SO's address............This is so bad and so frustrating we all should be bald from pulling our hair out..........Lora

TADAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Im around...just needing to breath...I watch you guys from the sidelines...we are STILL at NVC in AP. So we really are still waiting with you all..Just because we got our noa2 doesn't mean we moved very far. Most others approved from Cairo are getting their packet 3's and interview dates while we sit. If you think the customer service is bad here...NVC is nicer...but they are only nicer. We still get NO information..and we still get 293874923873874 different answers to the same question...I just needed a break...

I will be leaving to go to Cairo Jan 21 for our visit...IF NVC hasn't forwarded our case by the 7th or so. By the way..anyone wishing to travel...expedia.com....iberia airlines...GREAT travel deals...NY to Cairo...$640.00!!!

Actually, Ric, it might work to try customer service. That is how it is supposed to work. They can do that over the phone. They actually tried to do that for me after telling me I was outside commit time on december 19, but said computer forced transfer to vsc (maybe a lie i guess?).

At vsc I got the idiot who claims they are up to may 19, so i hung up and used the rfe trick to change the address the next day with different officer who acknowledged they were processing july, etc. but said i had to wait 30 days beyond 6 mo.s.

That is monday for me as well, so I will try customer service again and try to start an inquiry. I'll let you know what they say ... this is ridiculous isn't it?

Yes, it is ridiculous! I feel terrible for everyone who has been skipped or who is in RFE limbo. It is obvious they are not processing petitions in the sequence they were submitted and they refuse to correct the situation. In addition the so called customer service is a joke and an insult. It is obvious they have no ability to help anyone.

My heart goes out to you guys. I wish I could do something to help.

As for us, we made it to NVC and down to Bogota fairly quickly. We sent in our package 3 response on Dec 27 (we did not wait to receive package 3) and now we are waiting for an interview appointment. If things proceed normally for Bogota, we should have an appointment in February.

I have spent the last 2 days trying to fire my lawyer for unresponsiveness....but I can not get him to respond .....I can just cry

Hey Bill I am confused.....I have been so upset at the lawyer I called VSC and had them send me a copy of the RFE.....after 2 weeks the lawyer responded and I overnighted the completed form to him but have been unable to find out from him if he recieved it and/or sent it to VSC.....Would it be O.K. if I overnighted them another set of forms and my copy of the RFE? Will it be bad if the lawyer had sent the forms and they recieved 2..........I am so distressed

If you send in the exact same thing as the lawyer sent / will send and you label it as "possible duplicate" I think it may be OK but I have no way of knowing for sure. If VSC has not noted the return of your RFE in the online system I am thinking he has not sent it in yet.

She is in Cusco..........I am at work.......and in a bad mood......I am trying to fire my lawyer and he is MIA......I waited 2 weeks for him to send in my RFE and he has not done it so I got my own copy and sent it in myself.......I am thinking we are now looking at March.....I am sick of this........Ohhhhhhh........Help

Oh Lora, i am so sorry that you have to go through this. I dont even know what to tell you but to keep the faith. I hope your papers will be received very soon and keep on trying to fire that lawyer, this is just crazy.
