O.K........I just talk to a NICE lady at VSC.....she said the petition has been with a case wroker since November 1.......and was then transfered on November 17 to someone else......and it has been with them ever since.....she said she was unsure why it still has not been worker on......I told her it appeared that they were working cases in July and she would send a note to the floor to ask but was not able to report her response from them but she said it may stimulate something......she said about 1/3 of the case workers are OUT OF THE OFFICE on leave this time of year but she does see I am outside of the service target goal........but??????....................nothing......well Virgil Ric and I are probably together with a on leave ajudicator...........AUGH......NOW WHAT.......I AM GOING A LITTLE CRAZY.........OOOPs........I do not want to be back in the hospital......I have not had aproblem since I got out of there......so I am trying to only be a little upset........thanks guys....Lora

I would think that if adjudicators are out on leave they would transfer their cases to someone who was actually there working. It does not make any sense that they would keep some people in limbo while letting others get by wacko.gif

At least you know it is with an adjudicator Lora. Hopefully it means that your approval is coming soon.

We're gonna get it! (before Christmas!!.. i can dream. i just really don't want to go to yet another family gathering having to say I don't know. Thanksgiving was bad enough) I'm just trying to keep myself distracted. I've been getting into the Christmas spirit and santa-ing and baking and keeping busy. It'll be here one day!

I hear you.......I am trying too but I can not travel to Peru and he can not come here so here I sit......I hope you are right about before Christmas......I have not seen Oscar since June and it is really killing me.........Merry Christmas and have a great visit with Pete......... smile.gif

I will, as long as they let him in! But I'm not terribly worried they won't. He's come and gone like 9 or 10 times in the last three years so, it looks good that he always goes home. Do you guys have webcams and skype and the like to keep in touch? Or vonage for bizarrely cheap long distance ?

My husband had never seen know either.....he was taking pictures of an inch of snow and ice because he was so excited. He is in for a treat tonight with this storm we have coming!

Also, i used skype but it tended to make me upset. being able to see him without being able to touch him was torture. As much as I hate AIM, I almost preferred that to Skype

It doesn't sound corny at all! This is what we all dream of... a NORMAL relationshiop. It's the little things, like you said, like just holding hands. Just being together. Apparently, it's a lot to ask for us though.

Vonage is a VOIP phone service (that is it runs over the fiber optic broadband network). It's 29.95 I think a month for unlimited calling all over the US. It's awesome. I get my voicemail in my email, so when I'm at work and I get messages I can still get them as wav files. I love it. And, for me its totally free to call the UK. And I can ask it to tell me how long and how many times I've called X phone numbers and it produces a report for you. (Which is great for the interview!) I looked it up and albania is 16 cents a minute. But it's really nice.

Hang in there Osloratamm! I am not going to pretend I know what it is like to be away from my SO for that long. I can't even imagine how hard that must be. Hold on a bit longer and you will have your approval. You are almost there!!!

I got my RFE letter last night thankfully. Phew. It was exactly what I thought. They need Darren's divorce decree. We didn't have it in time when we mailed in the petition. I am sending it out tomorrow. Hopefully it will keep moving....

My guess is that someone is actively working your case now. You finally got a hold of someone that admitted that you are outside of the processing goals and they have moved your file to the top of the pile, or have given it to someone who is still there working.

Hang in there darlin, I think this is a good sign.

Hello VJ family ! Thank you for the support!! After 175 long days .. after delay of the rfe .. WE GOT APPROVED TODAY ! I admit last days and weeks were very hard for me but finally it is done! We wish to all get approved very soon .. here is a song for all of you
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kl1rRxG251s

congratulations my NOA1 date twin!!!!!!!

heres to swift moving through the rest of your journey!

THANK YOU babybluesusie!!! Luck to the interview to you :-)))
Bill y Bella
I want to thank everyone for your warm congratulations. It is greatly appreciated. smile.gif

If anyone is curious about how our approval transpired, we received our first touch at 4:00 yesterday afternoon and the approval was registered on the website around 9:00 last night. I received the CRIS email regarding the approval a few minutes after it was posted on the website. It was nice to see at least one thing working at USCIS the way it is supposed to. whistling.gif

As to how we feel, Bella said "Que?!" (What?!) followed by about 5 minutes of celebration. I'm not really sure what she said to tell the truth. She was taking care of her sick sister so she was sort of whispering, crying and shouting at the same time. I gathered she was happy. wink.gif As for me, I keep getting emotional. For the first time this whole process is beginning to seem real. It is very hard to believe that Bella and the kids might be here by February. blink.gif

I also feel very badly for all those who are still waiting from April, May and June. That is the one thing that diminshes my happiness today. I wish there was some way for me to help you get your approvals sooner. I did have one thought. I have noticed that no one ever asks to speak to a supervisor when they call customer service and get the run around or obviously bad information. I wonder what would happen if the petitioner politely but firmly demanded to speak to a supervisor, the supervisor's supervisor, etc. until they got some real answers. I have the sense that the first level of customer service whether they be pleasant or nasty is no help whatsoever. I would also suggest beginning each conversation by politely requesting the customer service rep's full name and ID# if they have one. That will put them on notice that there might be repercussions if they are not helpful.

I see one new June approval that I do not think has been reported. Nadia & Jason. Sent 6-10. NOA1 6-14. Approved 12-13. No RFE's shown on the timeline.

That makes 41 for the month and 12 for the week.

Somtimes I still can't believe we're actually approved! I keep checking the website to make sure that they haven't taken it back. This despite the fact that I have the hard copy NOA2 and confirmation from DOS that our case is with the London Embassy! wacko.gif helpsmilie.gif

Bill,

I have asked to speak to a supervisor on two occassions when speaking with them. One time I was put on hold for about 20 minutes and the cust serv rep came back and said that all the supervisors were in a meeting and transferred me to an officer who was not even in Vermont. I think he was in Illinois, but I dont remember, and he didnt have any more info than the reps. the second time I got put on hold, waited for like 30-40 minutes and just hung up. And let me tell you, the first lady who said they were in a meeting brow beat me with "they cant do anything more for you than I can", "They have the same info as me", etc, and she said it more than a little rudely and seemed a bit ticked off. devil.gif Of course, that was my intention. I was giving her hell because she told me that they were working on such and such date, and she hadnt realized that it was outside the 6 month goal. So I was giving it to her about why they didnt update the website, etc.

And no, I never told her my case number or entered it into the automated system devil.gif

Bill,

I also wanted to add, and please correct me if I am wrong here, because you have been active here a lot longer than I have, but by my count there are only 4 K1 petitions still outstanding for April, and 13 K1 petitions outstanding for May.

Knowing that OsLoraTamm is still active here, I assume that the 13 petitions are still active and awaiting adjudication, at least hers is. But, my belief is that the 4 outstanding for April are probably abandoned, or people forgot to update if they are still active here. I cant recall any April filers speaking out in this thread in the recent past (because if I waited that long I would be POSTAL). But I havent been here for as long as you. What is your feeling on this?

And to any April filers: Please dont take offense that I dont know or remember you. If you are still here and the data is correct, just let me know!

The same EXACT thing happened to me when I asked for a supervisor. She said the supervisor wouldn't know anything additional then she did. So I said, "So basically no one knows anything". She didn't like that.

I think Mel and Syl are from april and have been waiting for months on an rfe answer. I don't know of many from may except poor MCKT:), most probably have gotten at least an rfe by now.
I haven't even gotten a touch yet which is what makes all the july and now august approvals seem weird to me, oh well it's another day at vsc ...

I agree. You would be going postal. laughing.gif

Of the 4 open April petitions, 1 is definitely still active (Mel & Syl), 1 is definitely dead since they have not been on the site since 11-14 (John & Sheila), 1 is impossible to tell since they do not have any timeline or profile that I can find (Celia & John - How does that happen?), and 1 is a maybe (Tu & Chris / madmcc22555) no RFE's on timeline and no recent posts but last on the site 12-7.

In every month there seems to be one or two that take forever to be completed. And surprisingly there are also a significant number of members who never find their way to this VSC forum. So lack of participation here does not necesarily mean that an old petition has been abandoned.

In any case, there are active participants in this forum that filed in April or May and are still waiting so obviously those months are still "open".

If she overstayed by more than 180 days she will have a 3 year ban. If she overstayed by more than one year she will have a 10 year ban. If she overstayed by less than 180 days she won't have a ban but she won't be able to use the VWP again and will have to apply for a visa. Her chances of getting one after an overstay are slim though.

Hope this helps.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE RECENT APPROVALS!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH GO VSC GOOOOOOOOOOO kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

Lora,
We got two touches two days in a row..then got our approval 10 days later...lets hope they get crackin' on yours and get it out before this weekend is here. You are all still in my prayers...we are stuck at NVC...WAITING AGAIN...but I DID get a letter from them yesterday that stated they have our petition and it would be forwarded "within a week". It actually gave a time commitment. We all know one week can mean.."when we feel like getting to it!! " heheheeh...Anyways..good luck to you all...

With that aside...you are my family and support...
Im sorry to report that my father was officially diagnosed with the rare dementia of Pick's Disease yesterday...and they give an estimate that ha has 4-5 years left. (he's only 71 currently) I was advised to lock away ANYTHING that can be used as a weapon, that he could become psychotic and become violent...to call 911 if that happens to ensure my mothers, mine and his safety.... crying.gif crying.gif unsure.gif unsure.gif helpsmilie.gif My dad is the sweetest, softest man I know...but I do see signs of this impending diagnosis.

I share this...because i have no support here other than you people...Im asking for your prayers for my parents as they endure this hard time in their lives. I just wish Amr was here... Soon, god willing....
