That May 19 thing is weird, we all know they are into july, wtf? Anyway, apparently they need to reset the USCIS webpage on the 14th or 15th of this month to show if they're within their 6 months or what the date is now they are processing. I can't imagine it will say May 19...

I got my RFE email on 12/5 but still no letter in the mail. It has been a week! Is it normal to have to wait this long??? I am getting nervous.

I love how they give us a deadline to mail in the additional evidence. They have nerve considering deadlines mean nothing to them.....

Hi everyone just wanted to share some news with ya'll. We called the service center using the RFE thing yesterday and got a very rude lady on the phone (i would like to call her something esle though) anyways, she told us that she cant give us any info on our case because we had call the PROBLEM line, HELLO???? I think we are having problems with our case That good for nothing person didnt even asked for our case number and after minutes of feeding us some BS she just hung up on us. Well, we called back again and had a nice guy this time who was really patient and had a look on the computer. He wanted to do an other service request but the system did not allow him because they have done one on dec 4th. He said that we should hear something very soon and also told us what to do when we get approved. Of course we already know what to do but we let him talk, at least some was willing to talk so we just let him. I am tired of hearing "you will get something very soon" but there is nothing we can do at the moment. The letter we sent to Senator Webb yesterday already has been delivered so maybe they will be able to do something for us.

Hey Syl, soch posted something back in Oct., which may be of help to you. I saved this in my notes in case I ever needed it, so here it is:

"Ok, I originally called using the RFE trick... then the lady asked, "when did you send application", i said "back in may" she said, "Oh, before July?", I said, "yes" she said, "you should call back the 800# press 1 for english, then 2,2,6,2 then instead of putting your case # press 4.. this will send you to request a referal for your status they will then send Vermont an email." Well I did as she said, I plugged in the #s got a live person (after being on hold) I told her I was concerned because I had not heard anything and wanted to check on the status of my petition. She said, "hold on I will transfer you to an officer" I waited, the officer asked for my case #, confirmed address and told be i should receive something shortly since i was approved 10/15"

Not sure if this is what you have been doing, but thought I would post it again on the odd chance that this could help you!

Well, I just got off with an extremely rude customer service person. I asked them why it has been a week and I still haven't gotten my RFE letter. They said I had to wait 15 days before they can do anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can someone PLEASE tell me how long after their RFE email did they recieve the letter??????

Fifteen days from TODAY or fifteen days from the date they issued it? If its from teh day it was issued, it probably just to make sure that you actually did recieve it. Mail at Christmas time, especially, can be a little slower than usual. But if its 15 days from today than I'm more than happy to join in your outrage and go

This whole process sucks. I'm sorry you're stuck in it for even extra time. Mirla too.

Nah, it is 15 business days from the date they issued it which was December 5th. I just don't understand why they just can't $$##$ mail something without causing additional stress and unnecessary wait time. 15 days for mail! That is just ridiculous. It should take 3-4 days tops. I hate all of them. I really really hate them.

Cuz they're lazy sods and stamps cost a WHOLE FORTY ONE CENTS. It shouldn't take that long tho.

Hey Steph! The website said that ours was sent on Nov. 1st (thursday) but the next day I got another touch....maybe that's when they really sent it and Patrick got it Monday 5th....he lives in NY.....Do you live in NY too?? You must get it today or tomorrow!!!

Here is the latest approval. Thank goodness. If I don't see frequent approvals I begin to panic and have flashbacks to the time when we only saw 1 or 2 approvals per week.

Diana & Alan. Sent 6-20. NOA1 7-10. RFE returned 11-28. Approved today. 12-12.

That clears out some more June dead wood and also should give some hope to those with RFE's. Diana & Alan post here sometimes so maybe they can provide some specifics regarding their RFE.

Remember there is no hard and fast rule regarding how long it takes to adjudicate a petition after the RFE is returned. The adjudicator picks up where he/she left off. If there are no new complications the approval comes soon after the RFE is returned. On the other hand, if a new complication pops up (such as a bad guy name match for example) it could take quite a while to resolve, just like it would if there were no RFE.

Thus there is no accurate answer to the frequent inquiry regarding how long it takes to be approved after an RFE is returned.

Yessss give those approvals to Mirla, Mel and Syl and eveyone waiting long !!!

Yeah, I think mine was really mailed on the 6th so I thought I would have gotten in yesterday. I live in NJ (1 mile from NY). I think I was fine until I called the "Useless Hotline" and they said 15 business days. Only they can screw up something as reliable as the mail. Ugh.

Do/have any of you end up calling NVC / DOS on a daily basis to see if your respective embassy has yet received your case yet?

I spoke to DOS yesterday about that whole aberration of them misspelling her last name, and the guy told me basically not to worry about it. But he also said that London hadn't received the case yet. From what everyone had been saying, it seemed to take only a few days to get from NVC to Embassy but as of today it's officially been a week...

If I call them daily will they start seeing 40 million records of me having called? Does this piss them off? Is there any written or unspoken rule that I shouldn't keep calling them?

If there was an online system I could just keep checking I'd do that, but unless my head was under a rock somewhere, I don't believe that's the case.

I would really like to know when London has gotten it so I can tell Amy to keep a sharp eye out for Packet 3, but yeah...kinda hard to do that when they don't have it yet.

I called DOS today and got a recording that they're closed!
But I emailed the Montreal embassy and they got back to me today with what date they received my case. Took 5 days, even though the DHL package I tracked that I'm pretty sure was mine said it arrived in just 1 day. Probably sat in their mail room. They also told me they sent out our Packet 3 yesterday, so at least I know to tell my SO to look out for it.
So, you could try to contact London directly, maybe? Not sure how they work things.
And I'm not sure, but it seems from what I've read that DOS are pretty nice, and it's not going to count against you to call every day if you want to.

BTW, does anyone know if Packet 3 will go to my SO in Canada or to our lawyer here or possibly both??
