Here is a new one that was reported late. She just found out today when she opened the envelope from USCIS that had been in her house for at least a day and maybe more.

That makes 19 for the week and the month not including the 2 that have still not updated their timelines.

I got a letter from NVC that gave me our case number and said blah blah in about a week your petition will be forwarded. This was 2 days ago. I, of course, called on...Wednesday, I believe, and was told it had already left. Hm.

My main concern however, is that they misspelled my fiancee's last name on this form. On both NOA1 and NOA2, her name is correct.

If I were to call DOS, could they tell me

1) If it's made it to London yet

2) If her name being misprinted on this letter is a problem

3) If it is, can they fix it?

On every document but this, her name is spelled right. I'd like to think that this letter is rather meaningless to the whole process but I'd like to know for certain before I assume it is and then find out "oh crap that's a problem" when she gets to, say, the interview.

I don't know the answers to your questions except the first one. I think your best bet is to just call DOS and ask them. I doubt if the incorrect spelling on the letter will cause any problems since your I-129F, NOA1 & NOA2 all have the correct spelling. However, one never knows for certain so it might not be a bad idea to touch base with DOS or NVC.

Are they open on the weekend? Or am I gonna have to wait till Monday to speak to someone?

That is a new one for most of us I think. They also have not updated their timeline yet. That makes 3 this month that were approved and never updated their timeline. I saw you asked them to update so maybe they will get the message.

I would send NVC an email and call them. They usually take about a week to respond to emails. That way you will have something in writting.

I read something somewhere before that said if there was a name problem after USCIS to contact NVC and the servicing American embassy.

Good luck...you'll get them straightened out.

The thing is, I don't believe there is a true name problem. Like I said, all the 'official' documents have her correct name on them...

Understand, but somewhere in some system they have the name spelled wrong, so it is the same issue to get to the bottom of it. They didn't hand write you the letter did they? Ok then, there is a database that is incorrect somewhere and I would nip it in the bud before it has a chance to bite you later.

I sent an email to NVC just now. Hopefully they won't take too long to get back to me.

Finally after nearly 6 months....I check my email tonight and find that NOA2 approval notice sent 12-7!!!!!!!!!!! I was hysterical and tried to call my fiance and of course couldnt get him on the phone...got him on the internet....All of you that posted are right..the wait is a blur..doesnt matter now....one step closer to forever w/my love...

The month's total is now up to 23 or maybe 22 because I think A&K and K&A are the same member. But 22 is not so bad!

Im dancing.... Ok, lets see if we can make it to the same interview. There are three of us. One was approved for Cairo the day before me...I THINK her petition will get to Cairo tomorrow. Melinda, Monday or Tuesday call DOS or the NVC number...make sure they get your petition..ask for the new case number. I did email Cairo...and believe it or not GOT AN ANSWER this morning...I was shocked at the fast turn around time. WOW. Impressed. I can also show you a thread that was written on how to track your petition in DHL...till it gets to Cairo. There is a package on the way right now..that may be the other girls..or both hers and mine...Im not sure..will know tomorrow when DOS/NVC is open again. Cairo will NOT send out packet 3 or schedule and interview till they get the petition. I pulled some numbers....60% of the K visas are approved within 6 months with the majority approved in 3 months or less. (thats since May.) April they had a few that are STILL in AP...and there are 2 or 3 (1 K1 and the rest K3) that have been in over a year...but dont you listen to anyone there in that forum IF you go there....every case is different....

For now girl...LETS CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Told you it would come....hehehee...PRAISE GOD FOR HIS FAITHFULNESS. THANK YOU GOD FOR THIS APPROVAL.

Another one for last week announced today:

luba & mj (likenoother). Sent 6-25 NOA1 6-28. Approved 12-8.

That makes 24 for the week minus 1 for the possible double timeline for A&K / K&A plus 3 for the people who announced their approvals and did not update their timelines. (Waiting9, Lost in the Abyss, & Turtles). That brings the revised total to 26.

First of the week:

Lily & Sidiq. Sent 7-25. NOA1 7-27 (I assume they entered the received date.) Approved today.

Their dates are the exact duplicates of mine.
