Its easy enough to get. They want the snail mail we sent to each other. The thing that is annoying is that we have to wait 2.5 months to send it in. Whatever. My fiance thinks that they just wanted an excuse to issue us the visa closer to our wedding date (in August).
I guess it kind of makes sense. I just want this phase to be over

Ok, so I went and read your post in the regional forums. I still don't understand why he can't just send it in and they can issue his visa after they get the information they requested. i am so surprised and sorry to hear about all this, Zee. i read your embassy review. yes, it really seems that there is no rhyme or reason to some of these consulates. this process is so uncertain and it seems to never end. but i'm glad you are being positive, and i'm glad they were at least nice to your fiance.

well....Oscar is on a bus to Lima......never recieved the embassy's mailing by snails mail......so we contacted the embassy in Lima and they told him to be there tomorrow by 9 am to get the letter and info......now he will have less then 2 weeks to get certificates and medical done......I leave the 30th for Lima so we will be together for the interview......April 1........and home together April 4..........yeah

I was kind of hoping to see you post the "OMG! Interview approved!"...
.. But as you have said, you were not denied so that is a good thing.

So, please know that I'm very proud of your strength and resilience. You are a true inspiration for optimism and patience. I'm saddened by your news, but I still have faith you will be together as planned, when planned. That embassy gave you a load of bull$hit. But perhaps their ridiculous reasoning was normal for that embassy. i don't know. So, you may have to wait a while longer, but like you said it won't change your reunion date anyhow. And I will certainly keep an eye on your progress with great interest, well beyond your approval. You have many supporters here.

.... some people on the Philippine forum have been venting about having called several times and spending precious dollars just to be on hold for more than an hour and then just to be told to call again. I'm so happy for you.
Hope everything will go as smoothly for you.
Just finished talking to Oscar......He went to the embassy in Lima today and got the copies of the packet that never arrived......He said the people were very nice......He then went to get the required pictures......and apply for the certificates.....We are very close to not being able to have the Judical certificate on time with the holiday's coming up......He gets the medical exam date tomorrow.......He is such a baby......He is afraid of the injections....Poor baby 
....Oh well we all must sacrifice you know................ but all is going O.K......I just hope and pray everything goes smoothly..........

Oscar called and finally something went very smoothly....He got all 3 certificates TOdAY......God is looking down on us.......and he has an appointment on Monday for his medical......He is back on a bus for 14 hours going to Arequipa to pack up his life....cut off his utilities and spend a last weekend with his family and then fly to Lima on Monday morning.....have the medical exam and wait for me to finish my work and come to Lima for our April 1 interview....this is so surreal to me now......After all this time....all this anxiety......all the tears, anger, disappointment and loss of hope.....I am not sure I believe this is it.......What we have been working for for a year......is right now at hand....WOW.......It is an amazing feeling.......Thanks you guys for keeping me grounded and focus...........I thought this day would never come......AWESOME.....We are not nervous just excited

What a hoot......I am off for 6 days starting today and at 7 am I was up cleaning out my whole house......My kid's think I have lost a screw......I have already taken out 3 bags of "trash"....things I use to think I could never live without.....Now I know what is really important.......wow.......It must be like the nesting thing before you have a baby..........Oh well I am back to work now........Oh Oscar just called he just got off the bus in Arequipa.....what a trip......yuk......happy cleaning guys

I'm washing everything. All the clothing is being cleaned. Even everything in the closet, in an effort to make space for Sasha's clothes. Lora, I've got you beat. I've thrown away 8 large garbage bags full of old stuff, two sofas, 2 bags of old clothes, a broken typewriter, old camping gear. I've moved a large fish tank, recaulked the bathtub, cleaned behind the fridge, cleaned the carpet, ceiling fans, cut my hair, washed my Big Willie....(oh, I should mention that's our black Labrador's name).
......And I'm only half way done!
Still need to do all the dusting, clean the stairway, clean out my Explorer, scrub the toilet (fun), clean the oven, microwave, stock the fridge, clean the bedroom....Damn! Where has all the time gone?? And I'm working my job everyday through Sunday. I may not be able to finish, but I'll do my best.
And I'm even cleaning in between posts.
