And a special hooooorah to our favorite CSC cousin StillThePrettiest. She was also approved on 12-6. smile.gif

not only did I see your custom title, julez, but it inspired mine, which up til a few minutes ago had been the highly imaginative 'platinum member' laughing.gif

and yes, SO lovely when people understand... otherwise they see you turning cartwheels, and say excitedly 'oh, did you get your visa????' and you have to say 'oh no; I won't have that for months yet' and they're all huh.gif

what is packet 3?

packet 3 is a checklist of documents that the embassy will mail to the beneficiary

it will tell you which documents you need to mail into the embassy, and which ones you will need to bring with you to the interview...once you turn in packet 3, the embassy will mail you packet 4 which will tell you your interview date

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...&hl=albania

go to that link for the packet 3 from the embassy my fiance and i are using, in tirana...it wont be exactly the same as yours, but it will be similar

Some embassies are combining packet 3 and 4, in which case you will only get one.

well on top of 187 days of nothing....I guess I do not have to kill myself checking all weekend........I am dying

I agree it's a silver lining that they won't be wasting my time checking for a touch.
I got a response from my Senator's staffer re my inquiry. They said as of 12/5 (one day prior to 6 months) it is with an officer and I should hear shortly. Yeah right, I'm so optimistic now that they said I'll hear something shortly... darn the website is down (sarcastic smiley)
At least they know it exists (probably just 'found' mine 12/5 when staffer called). I'm kind of at peace with it as I don't expect much from them or my senator at this point. It's like a traffic jam now, just turn on the radio and it will be over when it's over innocent.gif

There have been so many approvals from late July that I began wondering if May, June and early July had really been skipped over. So of course I had to do some research. tongue.gif

CODE
Period Sent        NOA1's   Approved    Open   % Complete
    Jan             28         28         0       100
    Feb             41         41         0       100
    Mar             50         49         1        98
    Apr             46         42         4        91
    May             64         51        13        80
1st 1/2 June        46         29        17        63
2nd 1/2 June        23         18         5        78
1st 1/2 July        28         21         7        75
2nd 1/2 July        80         24        56        30

The lack of late June and early July approvals reported recently makes sense because it looks like those periods are 3/4 finished. The question still remains as to why May and the 1st half of June is lagging behind. It could be petitions from May have more than the normal number of RFE's and complicated name checks. The first half of June could have the same problems but it seems strange that only 63% of petitions have been completed when the second half is 78% finished.

The other thing I see is that despite the many approvals, there is still a long way to go before the second half of July is complete.

VJ timeline searches. It is simple to do as long as you remember that VJ excludes the opening and closing dates in the search.
