Did you get any "Nope, still waiting" replies?

I called the National number yesterday because its been seven months AFTER June 18th, and they said that they're currently processing May 18 - June 18. So, there's no inquiry for anybody in those dates, even though its been nearly eight months.

Boo, guys. BOO.

Rep asked for receipt number.

They said that they received it on July 27th and it is still processing. Since they are only processing petitions from June 18, I should expect about another month.

When I said that I was concerned because they are processing October petitions, she replied, "Nope, it's still just sitting there."

I got yelled at for using the RFE trick this morning. . . I was just being curious and trying to see what info I could find out. . .the first thing out of this lady's mouth was this is not a status update phone line. . or something like that. . .

So she did not say anything about why Sept. and Oct. are being processed in advance of those left in July????
Does that not seem strange to them???? Are we the only normal people that can see this is ludicrous!!!!!!

No I will not call to be told this bunch of bunk!!!!!!!!

I really don't feel bad for it. It is absurd that they can't offer true support to people who have been waiting WAY too long. May was 8 months ago. There are many people getting approvals in 3 months now. Those people that have waited too long and deserve genuine answers.

I got one response so far saying that they received their NOA2 in Dec. and had not updated but did so yesterday...
I went back and looked at those that their applications were received in July by VSC and their NOA1 was received by them by the
end of Sept. ( did this because some people were delayed..but they go by the date that it was received at the VSC.)
Anyway...I actually counted 26 that are still waiting...however there are probably some that have not updated their timelines...

Maybe I will here from the others I emailed (about 5 others)...

ISN'T VSC CLOSED ON MARTIN LUTHER KING JR DAY? They really keep you guessing huh? I'm very thankful for the email, but I found it quite odd.

I think they had people working overtime cause a couple of people got approvals and a few were "touched" as well that day.

Note: there does seem to be 1 December filer AND 1 January filer already with their NOA2's, both from the same country (Cuba). Don't really understand this. Expedited?

Also there is one from January filer (Hester & Ian) that has the "NVC Received" field entered, but no NOA2. I'm assuming this was a mistake, but that's why they are not in the list below.

Latest VSC Waiting List:

Well it takes a week to security scan the papers...difficult to penetrate through the layers of "I've been neglected for several months" dust, then another 7 weeks for customs to wipe the dirt clean to frisk the papers for any concealed weapons.

It doesn't surprise me that the timelines are different for Cubans...the Cuban-American community wouldn't stand for it any other way...

I filed form DHS-7001 with the ombudsman. It's for people seeking an immigration benefit (like I129f) who are having problems with USCIS. It's a simple form where you fill in your info and describe your problem.
Ombudsman takes it up with USCIS and you get an answer within 45 days. Much of the ombudsman's work is aimed at fixing the overall problems and I think he uses the complaints to get an idea of those so I am afraid it may not help much more than congressperson's inquiry. But what else can we do. I tried to add a link to the form below. Also it has to be mailed, not e-filed.

If you experience problems with a pending USCIS immigration benefit, please submit your case problem using Form DHS-7001, CIS Ombudsman Case Problem Submission. Happy Friday.

Just a quick question:
i sent back my RFE with the requested documents early this week. i know it arrived and was signed for yesterday morning. How long should i wait before i contact VSC to see if they've resumed my case? i've been scrolling through the posts and i've noticed that for most couples they resume processing almost immediately? Should i just breathe and try to wait it out till Monday?

Yes, I recommend breathing. The alternative can cause undesired ramifications.

A couple of thoughts:

1. If you call, you will obtain 3 possible outcomes; no information, misinformation or accurate information. If it is either of the two latter outcomes you won't know which of the two you received so it will be useless. On the other hand, if they give you no information the call will also be useless. So the 3 possible results are all useless. Therefore, I conclude that it will be uh, what is the word I am looking for... oh yeah, USELESS to call.
2. If things proceed normally, you should see an update soon in your USCIS website online status that says that processing has resumed. Once that occurs you can call VSC customer service and they will look at the same information you can see online and read it to you. This is the ONLY service that customer service provides. They provide this very valuable service for people who cannot read it for themselves because they are illiterate or visually impaired or don't have computers.
3. If there are no additional complications you might see a decision within a couple of weeks. It is also possible that you will not see a decision for a long time. The only way to know which of the two scenarios applies to you is to wait and see what happens. There is absolutely no way that VSC customer service is going to tell you in advance because they do not know.
4. In the time it took you to post this question you could have called VSC. Wouldn't it have been better to have just called and conserved the valuable space in the forum for members with big huge billboard sized photos of themselves in their signatures so that we can all see them over and over and over again?

Sorry for the sarcastic tone. I know what you are going through. Try to relax and be patient. The chances are good that you will have a decision soon. Good luck!

Another Approval from VSC.

I have my own theory. About a week ago, a couple that had timelines similar to ours was finally approved. They had an RFE. I think the adjudicator was waiting for their reply to RFE before moving along to other petitions.
