I don't remember the exact way, but if you go back a few pages on this thread, I think someone posted the phone number. You need to talk to an actual person because for someone reason they don't put it in their system or something.

I just called now but for some reason I when I press the prompts, it seems that they don't recognize it cause it doesn't work, the machine keeps talking.....
I called using a calling card....the same thing used to happen when I called once USCIS using a calling card...I always use skype but I don't have credit now...I don't remember if when you buy credit on skpye, they charge at the moment....

It is midnight from what I heard too. Number is 1-603-334-0700 for NVC. They will have your new case number if they have received your case. Many people say it is easier to get through to Dept of State at 1-202-663-1225, but I'm sure they are not open to midnight.

Btw yeah they're open until midnight, so you can call them now and you just need to have your case number from USCIS (they will be able to track it) and they'll give you their case number if it's availeable yet.

I already called NVC but it doesn't work from my phone, don't know why!!!
I called DOS too but they close at 5pm and on wednesday at noon.

Can beneficiaries call NVC...I forgot about that little detail....hehe

When VSC told my congressman i was approved on the 8th and the petition had been forwarded to NVC already he called and got me my new case number. Being that you were approved on the 2nd you should be well ahead of me!

Go get that number girl!

FYI Mirla, I was doing the DHL Tracking for someone else and I noticed a package from NVC on its way to Lima. It was sent on the 7th and signed for in Lima on the 9th!!! I bet you files are in there!!!!!

Call NVC and see if they can give you any info.

That DHL tracking is a mystery to me. I've tried so many times and it never works. I've settled on just waiting for the embassy to contact my fiancee.

Here is what my snooping self found: there was a package that left NVC on 1/2/08 and it got to Bangkok on 1/5/08. There is also another that was sent on 1/7/08 and signed for in Bangkok on 1/10/08.

I am guessing your finacee should be hearing something soon

He got a letter with date January 10 saying that the state Department's Natiopnal Visa Center has recently received an approved...........This letter to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place.

So that means it is at NVC???? The letter has a case number...What do I do with that? How do I know if it has been sent to Lima embassy?

That means NVC got your case. Unless it was at NVC for more processing, I am guessing it is already in Peru. By the time I had got the letter from NVC it was already at the consulate.

When I found out our case had left NVC I gave it a week and then e-mailed the embassy to see if they got it. I had to use the new case number from NVC in the e-mail.

You're almost there!!!!

Unfortunately she's going to have to wait until April. Unless I read it wrong.

Maybe they will catch up with the lagging applications since we are appraching the 30 day (after the 6 month) processing period that is needed for those May
and June filers that are still waiting.
