What was your recieved date? I know you said you got your NOA1 in July, btu what's the date they recieved it on teh notice? THey said they're currently processing June 18 (i laugh and laugh and laugh...) if you're 30 days out of this then you can sit on hold for a half an hour and Customer service can do an inquiry.

Don't be silly, they are not processing september now!! I have that on the authority of Don, ID (short for IDiot) 138LM - a supervisor from customer service!!!

They are only up to June 18, which has mysteriously appeared as the current processing date for both CSC and VSC!! And AFTER the update was sent out on december 14 it said 6 months still, now it has changed without an update??!!?

So, conveniently that means us june people cannot even ask for a service inquiry because now we are not 30 days past this bogus date. Sounds a little coincidental to me ...

That made me SO mad. and today i called customer service and they insisted that that was posted on the 14th. I might have pleaded that seven months surely had to be good enough but she couldnt' do anything and then was asked if she could help me with anything else and i didn't knwo if I should ask her what I should tell people who want to know when I'm getting married or just cry so i just hung up.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could call NVC after 10-14 days and probably your case will be already sent to the embassy and you'll get NVC number..
NVC wont send you anything...consulate will once interview will be schudeled..

So what are my next steps. Do I just wait for the embassy to send me the next packet? Or is it NVC who sends it to me?


You'll get a letter from NVC in a few days letting you know they have your petitioon and that they're sending it to the Embassy in London. Then the embassy will send your fiance Packet 3, with a list of forms he must complete and some documents that need to be gathered. You'll need to complete the I-137 Affidavit of Support and get the supporting docs for that. Also, if your fiance hasn't ordered his police certificate yet, now would be a really good time to do so as it takes about 40 dyas to get! There's lots of info in the UK forum, so you might want to pop in there and check it out!

Not true.

NVC sends you a letter in the mail with your new case number and the consulate they are sending the approved petition to.

How you get packet 3 and 4 depends on the country. Some mail it out, others you can go online and download the forms, others you have to come and pick it up.

Darren already had ordered his police certificate and should be getting it this week. I had already completed the I-137 when I started the process so that is all done as well. So I guess I just need the packet 3 from the embassy and we are good to go!!!!

I think you are talking about the form I-134, dont you take the wrong one...

Why can't they update the website when you've been approved or send you an email!!!!!!! Sometimes they do it, sometimes not!!! I hate their system!!!

You don't actually *need* to call NVC for anything, but if you want to find out the dates they received and sent out your file to the embassy to fill in on your timeline, I'd say you could call NVC soon, today or in a couple days. Since you got a letter through snail mail, I'm guessing your NOA2 is already at least a couple days old, and Vermont is pretty fast with sending to NVC. I got my NOA2 via email; I waited one week exactly, and within that time my file was sent to NVC and on to Montreal.

Wooooohooo! It's nice to see someone who has waited so damn long get approved.

Darren already had ordered his police certificate and should be getting it this week. I had already completed the I-137 when I started the process so that is all done as well. So I guess I just need the packet 3 from the embassy and we are good to go!!!!

Does someone had the number for NVC?

You don't actually *need* to call NVC for anything, but if you want to find out the dates they received and sent out your file to the embassy to fill in on your timeline, I'd say you could call NVC soon, today or in a couple days. Since you got a letter through snail mail, I'm guessing your NOA2 is already at least a couple days old, and Vermont is pretty fast with sending to NVC. I got my NOA2 via email; I waited one week exactly, and within that time my file was sent to NVC and on to Montreal.

Mitch called his congressman's office yesterday. The lady on the phone took our EAC number and names and said she would get back to us....

Do you guys think the congressman's office can (or wants) to help at all?

Hard to say. The first time I asked my congressman to look into it was just after six months and I was told someone was working on it, if i havent' heard by january I could ask them to check for me again. I resubmitted my request the other day, but haven't heard anything.

They might help you out, but they don't make anybody do anything.

Steph you can call the DOS @ 202-663-1225 Option 1, then Option 0. They can tell you if your petition has been forwarded to London and they are much easier to get through to than NVC.

Keep trying NVC..try after 6 or 10 pm
DOS might not have it updated yet. When I called, DOS said it wasn't in the system but NVC had it.

Thank you everyone... we are thrilled...we hope to have the interview over within the next 2 months...then wait again...Some seem to be approved within the month, some 3 months, some 6 months with a few a year or more still waiting through Cairo..pray for us that we are one of the speedy ones.
