Even if there is a special envelope enough people have returned their RFE's without it and had them processed without a problem that I think it is safe to assume that it is really not necessary.

It still seems like a good idea to write RFE on the outside of the envelope to help the mail room and to make sure the envelope can be traced with a proof of delivery since the RFE needs to be returned by a certain date.

Hey guys, I was thinking of trying to call NVC either tonight or tomorrow.

I was just trying to get a feel for how easy it really is.

From what I've read it seems to be...call the number, hit the right prompts, give EAC number...and then that's it, right?

If you call NVC directly, sometimes you ahve to try several times. I called today... They are direct and to the point, but didnt seem rude. I was told my petition hadn't arrived yet (duhhhhh, i sort of KNEW that), and to give it 2-4 weeks. But we all know thats not always the case.

BUT....if you call the other number I found in another thread...the are SUPER SUPER nice and can give the SAME info.....

im sure that they have your petitions by now, if they havent already forwarded them to the consulates...mine was recieved by NVC in 3 business days, and sent to the consulate in another 2 business days

I'm in your boat too. I hate using the phone. I emailed NVC yesterday but only got an auto response, saying they will respond for real later. I may call them this evening if I can find a moment from work (emailing and reading forums is so much easier to get away with )

yea, the NVC is super super fast, but im still waiting because my petition is in naples, italy at the WRONG CONSULATE...booooooooooo...i did get the NOA2 hard copy though...i got it a couple of days after i saw the status update online...i dont know the exact date though, because it was sent to my mom's house and i don't live there

Yes, we got one a couple of days later. Apparently that touch indicates that it's been sent to NVC.

yes, i got a touch the day after my NOA2 and my petition was recieved by the NVC 2 business days after the touch...i think its 2 business days, but it could be 1 business day depending on whether or not they worked the day after thanksgiving

I don't have my hard copy yet but I think my lawyer may have received it today b/c she emailed me.
