Hi i have to provide affidavit of support for my parents but my income last year was not enough due to an accident. i only worked few months. Now can i use my brother as co-sponsor even though he does not live with me.

You can use anyone you choose, as long as their income is within the poverty guidelines for themself (and any other family members they support), as well as for you and your spouse.

I believe that if your mother is able to support herself and can provide proof by the way of the last 12 months bank statements this will also be considered and she would not need another sponsor.

If you are sponsoring the immigrant petition for your parents, you brother could be a joint sponsor. He would file an I-864 (not an A unless he is somehow declared on your tax returns as a dependent or living in the same residence). He would need to meet the poverty guideline requirement for the number of persons in his household plus your parents.
