On everyone's timelines they have where their application was "touched". What does this mean? My application for a K1 Visa has been at the Texas Service Center since January 26 and other than the NOA1 nothing has happened. It's so frustrating to see it just sitting there for almost three months. How long is it going to take!?

Touched is a term that means if you've signed up for email updates on USCIS.gov you can "see" that someone has "handled" the file because when they do that they update the date of when the file was "touched". I hope that's clear...

Sign up for the e-mail updates on the USCIS website ( I think it's working now.... ), and when a date on your case changes-it's been touched! Sometimes it means something -othertimes not
Please update your timeline....

I am signed up for email updates, but nothing has happened. Is it normal for no one to even look at my application for nearly 3 months. It's so frustrating. We're getting married in August and I'm starting to worry that his visa won't even be approved by then.

Go to www.uscis.gov
Then create a customer account if you do not have one already ( you will need the # from either your NOA 1 or the back of the cashed $170.00 check).
Then you will be able to view any date changes ( "touches") in the date of your petition.
You will also be able to check a little box by your case number that says " e-mail updates" or something.
Verify your e-mail address...and Bingo...You are done .
