I would like any information or personal experience from those filing a K3 for a spouse from Nigeria. I received receipt notice for I130 in June 2007, and havent heard anything yet. (receipt notice for I129 in July) In looking at the consulate interivew wait times in Nigeria, its listed as 76 days! Is this accurate? Also..if anyone has already been thru the process, would love details! example: after approval; timeframe to interview, whats needed before interview, can anything be done beforehand, the interview process etc. Also..could someone please explain what the "touching" means. I am new to this site and still trying to figure out all the lingo and what everything means! LOL

When you sign up for the USCIS "case status online" service (https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp) you will have a "last updated" date against your petition. Each time this date is changed, that is a touch. It means someone has physically taken your file from the pile, scanned it's barcode and done something to it (this could be as little as looking at it).

Hello and welcome to VJ!!!!

The timeframe to interview varies from consulate to consulate but for Nigeria it does not seem to be too long. There are some who were approved in the middle of November that have interview for early-mid January so your estimate of 76 days is correct.

We have recently had a few who have gone through Nigeria who have posted the questions they were asked. Here are some:

Also, if you have any Nigeria specific questions you can post them in the Sub-Sharan Africa Forum too smile.gif
