wacko.gif As the subject says, I have now received packet 3. My problem is that even though I have my birth certificate, police certificate, passport and proof of our relationship, I have yet to receive the I-134 from Josh or my mother in law. They sent off for the transcripts around the 13th November and, as of Saturday, have not received anything back from the tax people. Once they receive them, they need to get their I-134s notarised and will then send them off to me.

Now to my problem... do I wait to receive that paperwork from them (which could potentially be an extra few weeks) or do I send back my form to say I already have it all? Obviously any extra delay now will be an extra delay to my eventual interview. I have seen 2-3 month turnaround times from the embassy receiving the checklist back to the interview and I know it won't take that amount of time to get the forms we require.

So... has any one else "chanced it" or, like I feel, is this too important to risk?

Also, as I'm female and have only ever had a British passport, am I correctly thinking I do not have to fill out a DS-157?

So many questions wacko.gif

Whether or not you send now or wait is a very personal decision!

Regarding the DS157. No, you do not complete it as you are not a male!

Good luck with your decision!

Your looking at quite a few weeks to you get an interview date.

I would take the chance and say you have them.

Just get them to post them express delivery.

I would see if they would be willing to call the IRS and check on the transcripts. When I ordered (on two occasions), I never waited more than two weeks or so.

If I were you, I would send the checklist at the end of this week, regardless of whether or not the I-134s are all in order. I agree it's a personal decision though. smile.gif

I would definitely send the checklist back to the Embassy...gets the ball rolling at least and then you will have at least a few weeks to get the docs from usa to take to the interview.

Thanks for all the responses smile.gif I think I will be sending off the forms in the next couple of days. My mum-in-law got her tax transcripts last night and Josh should receive his in the next few days. I have my medical booked for the 4th Jan (great birthday present to me whistling.gif ) so the ball appears to be rolling along nicely smile.gif
