Hi,

We have sent package 3 back to the US Embassy in London and it should be arriving there tomorrow. Does anyone know the average wait time for package 4 to be sent with the interview date?

Thanks so much!

Not sure if there's an average period or anything.... for me it was one or two months.

Good luck biggrin.gif hope you get it soon!

To receive packet 4 or for the interview itself?

In my case, we received the letter less than two weeks later and then the interview was just a week after that! That was fast though. Receiving the letter within a couple weeks with the interview about a month later is more normal.

It was about a month before I received the letter, and about another month before my interview date.

I called the Department of State about 8 days after returning my Packet 3 and they were able to tell me my interview date. It was easy to get through and they were very helpful.

Department of State - +1 202 663 1225
Press Option 1 then Option 0 to speak to a Visa specialist

That sounds fairly normal then. I thought perhaps you were saying it was two months before receiving the interview letter. smile.gif

Sorry, I should have specified smile.gif

I would think that is a normal amount of time - I remember thinking it would take longer than that so I was pretty happy when I got the letter!

I sent my checklist in on Friday and we called the State Dept. today to see if we have an interview date. We do: January 24th. We asked for December 12th - January 6th, but never mind. At least we have one.

That's a really great estimate for me to work from. I am intending to mail in my checklist tomorrow, so I'll be hoping for a beginning of Feb interview (a nice amount of breathing space for my 20th Feb flight).

Does anyone know if there's any likelihood that the embassy would move my interview forward a bit if I called and explained the situation?
Gwen666
Possibly; I seem to remember a case in the dim and distant past where that happened. Can't hurt to try!

Its possible, but it would hinge on whether or not your situation is time sensitive. For example, you have a wedding all booked and paid for and stand to lose thousands of dollars if you don't get your visa before a certain date.
