My fiance had his interview on October 30th. After the interview they gave him a letter stating the case is temporarily refused for further administrative processing. There is a minimum of 6 weeks wait and no maximum wait time. His passport was returned to him.

Has anyone else had this happen? We are wondering if this is the common letter that most people get. Also wondering about how long it may take from now until approval and what is the next step for us? Is there any way to speed the process up?

If anyone has advise on this we would greatly appreciate your help.

You're experiencing what is called Administrative Processing(AP), and there is no timeline for this. Sometimes it can be a lengthy process with no real end in sight. Unfortunately, I do not know of anything that can be done to speed the process up.
