Hi everyone,
I am rather new to this site. My fiance and I will be filing our 129F petition this week. I was thinking that it would be great to get in touch with people who are filing for their K1 visas at pretty much the same time. How about we share our experience and frustrations until we finally make it through all those endless weeks and months of hoping and wishing?
Enjoy your Sunday!!!!!!!!!![/font]

Welcome to VJ!
My suggestion is use the "Similar Timelines" feature. That will allow you to see those that are "in the same boat" as you.
Hope your journey is turbulence free!

I'm filing for dec just getting all of the papers together and making sure everything is correct!! If I file in dec do you think i'll get him over here to stay before may? I really want him to be here for my birthday he has never been there for any of mine !

*fingers crossed* lol

There is no telling. May is "just" 6 months away. I am not sure whether the holidays will impact the processing times. I was thinking about several scenarios with regards to the processing times. . He can always come over on a tourist visa to be with you on your birthday. Let's hope everything will go smooth and fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is unlikely based on the current processing times. It is more realistic to expect around 8 months.

We finally filed our petition last Thursday, December 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now the waiting begins!
Steve came to Bermuda for a long weekend. He also brought along our Engagement Photos that we had taken in November in Atlanta. It's so good to be together again, even if it's just for 4 days. He'll be coming back for a long week over New Year's

Meeting up in Vegas to celebrate sounds good. Steve and I are planning to get married there anyway. I wonder whether other K1-couples have had get-togethers in the past once they completed the process. I think it would be fun sharing our happiness after these rough times.
My thoughts are going out to all of you going through this process. We'll make it through!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could see my significant other. Unfortunately he lives in one of the countries where it is nearly impossible to get a visitors visa to the US and I have work and childern so have to be careful with my vacation time. Good luck and maybe we will see you all in Vegas

NEW to VJ. Good Luck on the process! I just filled today. Hope the holiday will bring us luck. I prep the application myself, a little worry about the mistakes that I made that I didn't see... Also worry about the process time will be longer than average due to the flood of application back in July.
btw, I love VJ, this community is great!!

Hoping you guys will get some good news very soon as well. Was so overjoyed when Steve told me about the check yesterday, even though I know this is just the start of the entire process. Not sure how I will react once we get NOA2 in a few months (hopefully). Might have nervous breakdown from all the happiness.
Have a good weekend out there!!

Congratulations!!!
Call your bank and ask to see the back of your check.
There should be the receipt number starting with WAC-, this is NOA1 (I think...).
If you have online banking, you can do this online, but usually the image is not that clear.
You can use that number to check your status online on USCIS website.

Yeah December 3rd here - And it is funny the things you hang on to - we were over the moon when we found out the cheque cleared lol - I mean there is only a zillion steps to come. Vegas is looking good - We are marrying on the West coast at this stage - Teresa's family are all there. So depending on finances, you might be on

Just a word of advice (ok - apologies if it's already been mentioned but missed the beginning of this thread and am too lazy to read through it!!

)
The projected timelines you have at the moment for when you will receive your NOA2 are based on a lot of cr@p that went on with the fee increase/increased number of petitions/moving petitions to two service centres instead of the original four. many of your timelines will show predictions of around about six months which is what it was taking - things seem to be speeding up however so hopefully things will even out a bit more for you guys and you will start to see shorter processing times in general

Now I don't want to build false hope and I am no expert but if you expect a six month wait to get your NOA2 then you may be pleasantly surprised

Of course advising you to believe you will get it in 90 days would be... silly...

But you can always hope

Good luck in your journey and I hope you learn from it and takes as much from it as I have so far
