Wow, sorry that happened! Hope things go more smoothly from now on.
I'm pretty resigned to the whole thing at the moment. I'd really like the NOA2 to arrive by the end of May (I realise this is being very optimistic with CSC, but I try to be hopeful) so that I can hope for an interview by August and move by September... but we'll have to wait and see. I think Mark is more anxious than I am because he just can't understand why it takes so long before anyone even checks through the application.

I have a general question. i found out the hard way not to use the USPS. i sent her a box of homemade Cd's. they wanted some huge price for it , i told to tell them t trash it. yes i did probably go hoe with the postmaster. now i just used DHL to send some forms and copies of email and some pics of us together. i just received an email from DHL saying they are going to bill the receiver. How to we get the paperwork to our SO if they are making them pay for documents required to get in the country? anyone else have trouble getting things to their SO?

You could use
Ikobo.com. Basically they send her a Visa card (they send to just about everywhere in the world) that you add money to. So if you put $100 on the card, she can use it just like a Visa or ATM card, up to $100. You can even refill it. My lady uses it all the time, it's much more convenient that WU. The drawback is that there is a fee ($0.99 fee I think) applied every day to the card when it has funds. So it's best if she uses it like an ATM card and pulls everything out immediately. There's also a setup fee and a delivery fee. Basically fees all around. Expensive to setup, but the convenience makes it worth it, at least to me.

Hi Folks,
I used USPS to send a small box of things to Ukraine and it arrived there in about 10 days. I wouldn't send anything real valuable that way. On another note I did use WU one time they charged me $27 to send $200, then I went to Wal*Mart the following month and used MoneyGram to send 200. It cost me $9 so it wasn't too bad.
I really don't have anything much to post here as I'm just waiting like the rest of us. I try to keep busy getting my place ready for her and her daughter to come over - painting and fixing up a few things. It does help pass the time. Like the rest of us I check USCIS website sometimes 2-3 times a day....

Hi All,
I'm also a December filer.
I can't believe it's been already 50 days since I got NOA1.
Wish I could be able to file with VSC.
Then I would be passing the halfway marker now.
Since I filed with CSC, it's just 1/4 of waiting time.
Hope I don't have to wait that long.
Does anyone know why there is processing time difference between CSC and VSC?
Anyway... good luck to all of us.
Have a nice weekend!

OMG We all made it past 50 days after today. (If you received NOA1 and/or they cash your check on/before december 18.)
Man I need to keep more busy as if going full-time and buying a house isn't enough, therefore I'm hoping to get another part-time evening to kill more time. Or work-out to get in better shape.
Has any December 2007 filer received/been touched or anything from VSC??? I hope we will get ours NOA2 mid-late February.
Well, Good luck to everyone.

Hey sweetie!
Yep, we are passed the 50 day stage.
I try to keep busy too, work a lot, save money and spend time with Nick online.
I'm so glad to have VJ.
Nothing from VSC, haven't been touched since December 17th. I'm thinking we may not see anything until late March early April...but I like your guess better!!!

No touches here either so far since December 17.
After a not-so-great week (sometimes telling yourself to be patient and that it's all out of your hands just doesn't do the trick anymore no matter how far you are into the process, right?) I am now a bit more optimistic after seeing the first VSC November filer approved today.
Let's hope VSC keeps up the good work. Everybody, keep your fingers (and toes

Going through CSC means I know I'm in for a longish wait, which in some ways seems better than the random approvals through VSC since I can't expect anything to happen before April at the very earliest. I can't move before the summer anyway, so I'd be delighted if I could get NOA2 by the end of May because it means I could definitely plan a September wedding!
Mark's going to be here this time next week - haven't been together since last summer, so I'm very excited!!!

I envy you all VSC filers.
I saw one CSC filer with November NOA1 date got approved. But he/she submitted on September.
Which one is more important, NOA1 date or submitted/received date?
I'm looking for a new job but I think the K1 process is more stressful.
I guess I have to make myself more busy.

You shouldn't. CSC have had 16 approvals this week. VSC have had 7.
Both service centers have their ebbs and flows, and it wouldn't surprise me if they average out very closely over a longer period of time. In fact, you would have downright hated VSC just a couple months ago. I think there was an entire month go by (October maybe?) where there was something like 2 VSC approvals.

Look at the top of the page and click on the "Immigration Timelines" link. Select "Timeline search." Play around with the links on that page and you'll find all kinds of different ways to get information. The "View K-1 Visas" link is particularly interesting. Have fun!

so here's my sad sad story...my fiance was in the US on H2B visa which is when we met and fell in love. this was two years ago and we recently got engaged on my trip to romania, to visit him and meet his family. not only did we get engaged, but i also got pregnant! we are very excited but this also adds more pressure on him getting back here soon. we got our receipt for our application on 02/04/08. during this time, i also called to get it expedited because of my pregnancy. has anyone else tried this? with success? my fiance has a clean record of working in the states and i sent in ample proof of our relationship. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Congratulations on filing and your pregnancy. You both must be elated!
I hesitate to bring you down, but the chances of being expedited is slim, unless there are certain complications to your pregnancy. USCIS have taken a very hard stance on this, and I can't even remember if I've ever seen an expedite that wasn't either military or life-threatening. Still, it's worth applying for on the off-chance that you'll get someone sympathetic. But please be prepared to be turned down for the expedite. Best of luck to you.

I would hold off until you at least have NOA2 to give out the invites.QUOTE(mox @ Feb 7 2008, 01:10 PM)
