Vann
Hello, all! I plan on flying my fiance in this January 18. She has her K1 visa but still needs to attend her CFO. I went to the website and saw this:

<< 1. Original valid passport;
2. Original and photocopy of visa;
3. One (1) 2x2 or passport-size photograph;
4. One (1) valid identification card with photograph;
5. Original and photocopy of Confirmation of Permanent Residence (for CANADA-bound emigrant);
6. Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary (for USA bound emigrant);
7. Original and photocopy of the Embassy Certification of Eligibility (for Spain bound C visa holders);
8. Original and photocopy of letter of approval for Work to Residence visa (for New Zealand bound emigrants);
9. Photocopy of employment contract(for immigrant workers);
10. Duly completed registration form (downloadable at www.cfo.gov.ph);
11. Payment of P400.00 registration fee ; and
12. Attendance in the PDOS or peer counseling session;>>

My questions:

Photocopy of visa? From what she told me, she received her visa in an unopened envelope that was supposed to stay unopened until her port of entry in the US in which US officials would then open it so how can she have a photocopy of her visa? I'm confused.

Also, does she get her CFO approval stamp/sticker right at the CFO? She was planning on going this week.

Please answer these questions. Thank you!

I'm planning marriage to her this January 28th, our two year anniversary!

If she got her Visa already, I believe it's in her passport. The visa is a sticker. And the envelop contains different documents that are intented for the officer at the POE. The visa is not in the envelop.

Hi! What do you mean about the first come first serve thing? Is it a long wait in line after the seminar if she comes late?

WHEN YOUR FIANCE GET THERE FOR SEMINAR, MAKE IT SURE SHES EARLY COME BECOZ, OF THE ATTENDANCE. AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU A FORM FOR REGISTRATION.
jessel chris
Yes! The visa is in sticked to the passport...

Regarding about first come first serve basis... Actually Johna and I attended the seminar together. what she meant about is that you have to come there early because only 15 people are allowed to attend the seminar. Like in St. Mary's in Cebu we went there early around 7:30am but the seminar started around 10:00am but when we go there we wrote our name in the paper that they put on the door as our attendance and they will call your name as they let you in and by giving your form....

Its not that long our seminar starts 10:00am but we were done around 2:00pm and done with our CFO stamped before 3:00pm

Good luck!!

Her Visa is attached to her passport and it can be photocopied. The sealed brown envelope is the Visa packet, it can't be opened.

She will take the counseling at either PRISM or SMEF-COW and get the sticker at CFO office. Please note that SMEF-COW at Quezon City has CFO extension Office at their compound, if you go there you don't have to go to CFO main office to get the sticker.
Vann
Thanks for the feedback, guys!

So, if she doesn't get in early enough because of attendence, she basically has to come back the next day and try to get in early?

Hi, VISA's STICKED on your passport. and the brown envelop contains documents all about your VISA. and do not open or intent to open coz this is very confidential only the immigration officer can open it. o.k? GOD BLESS YOU.

Thanks so much, guys! smile.gif

God bless you all and this forum! You people make me feel good going through this process.

It's hard to believe my baby is coming home in 47 days! This is her first time to America and she's nervous. I'm dying to have her in my arms for good. I endured TWO painful separations from her (leaving her on my first trip to go home and my second trip). I won't feel whole again until she's safely nestled in my arms for good. smile.gif

Immigrant Data Summary is only for CR1/IR1 filer but if you are k3 and k1 filer you dont need to have that Immigrant Data Summary and dont worry about the registration form they will give you on the day of the seminar..

Thank you so much! HUGE sigh of relief here!

Well, she's attending it at Manila.

I keep hearing from everyone that Cebu is much easier with the CFO. However, that's not an option with my fiance.

So, everything should be OK?

Well, if she really wanted to have the seminar in Manila and it will be more convenient for her it would be ok!

Just want to share what are the things that I bring during my CFO seminar aside from passport and visa..

PHOTO COPY OF DIVORCE DECREE

PICTURE'S OF MY FIANCE AND ME

LETTER OF INTENT

PHOTO COPY OF MY FIANCE's BIRTH CERTIFICATE

Before I went to the seminar I called them and asking them what to bring and the guy said just bring all the papers that was left from the interview..

I'm planning marriage to her this January 28th, our two year anniversary!

hello! i just had my CFO seminar yesterday ( cebu ) and i was there at 8am my time and was done with them at 3pm..your fiancee should bring the ff:

1. original and photocopy of her birth certificate
2. 2 valid ID's and a photocopy
3. original and photocopy of her passport
4. P250.00 as registration fee
5. legal documents of the petitioner (eg. photocopy of passport, divorce decree, b-certificate...)
6. a photo of you together.

you cannot set an appointment in there so better tell your fiancee to be there before the registration time 8am-9am coz they will just entertain 15 persons each day and you dont know how many persons will be attending seminar on that day.after the guidance and counseling she will be given a " guidance and counseling certificate of attendance " which she will going to present to the CFO office to get her "guidance and counseling certificate" and of course a fee of P400.00 will be paid to...after her interview or if she had her visa on hand she will just present the "guidance and counseling certificate to the CFO officer to get her CFO sticker. hope that will help.
