I don't know what I was thinking I double checked everything. I was reading about naturalization today and read that the check was supposed to be made out to DHS. We will be waiting for our RFE. That really sucks.

I made mine out to U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security, and they cashed it.

I may be mistaken but ALL checks from starting the immigration process until aplying for USC are supposed to be made out to Dep. of Homeland Security

I made mine out to USCIS back in June, and they cashed mine. Somewhere on their website, it says either is OK. I was frantic for a while!

They will probably cash it without question. Don't sweat it.

I don't believe you will get an RFE because the check was written to the USCIS. When I filed Claudeth's K-1 I make it out to the USCIS and it was approved in about 12 days.

I feel a lot better now, but won't relax until they cash the check.

Cashing checks, no matter who they are made out to, is what USCIS does well and fast

I don't think you'll get rejected for that. I wrote our AOS check to USCIS without any problem. If you'd written it out to US Department of Defense, then maybe you'd have to worry...

Don't feel so bad, I made my check out and instead of 2007 I put 2005 on it, got the package back can you say Duh.
Re sent it lost a week.

And I put 2008 ...mine was sent back as well. Duh!!

Now to make me more nervous I can not track my petition. I sent it certified mail and they gave me a tracking number. That was Monday the 26th and so far all it says is that it was accepted at the post office. In 6 days it should get further that that wouldn't you think.
I guess I need to let it go and get a life. Why do we get so uptight over something we all know takes time to process. Got to find a project to keep me busy. Maybe block VJ from my computer for a month. Okay its time to get the wife up and tell her I got nothing.
