Hi all, I will be staying in PI for 23 days. I know the 21 day entry visa can be extended. My question is where do I go to get this done? Can I do it when I enter off the plane? Is there anyway I can get this before I arrive (from somewhere here in the states maybe)?

Thanks,
--Mike

I went to a local immigration officer and got an extension on my visa. I think they give the extensions in 59 day segments. I cost about 50 bucks and you need a couple of passport photos.

I did it in Iligan on Mindanao about 18 days after I arrived. Was really easy.

My fiance overstayed here in hes first visit, and ended up paying 20 buck in the airport uggg, luckily he got some friends to lend him some $.. Well better safe than sorry. Hard to play games like this.

you just need to go to the local/nearest philippine bureau of immigration office to request for an extension. i believe it's for 59 days but i'm not sure as to how much this costs.

Ok.. I'm an American Citizen..

Whenever I go to Philippines the shortest I stay is 30 days.. (Come on now, I live in NYC) That's the other side of the world.. At least give me some time to recover from Jetlag and enjoy myself.. Hehehe..

I don't remember of getting any extensions or what so ever...

Even for the longest I stayed 3 months..

Never had a problem.. Just come and go..

You can either visit or mail a Philippine consulate in the U.S. or you can obtain the visa in the Philippines.

the standard tourist visa to the Philippines is only good for 21 days. That means if you arent a Philippines citizen you cant just go there and stay as long as your want. you can extend the tourist visa up to 59 days. i think the stamp in your visa has a edge around it that says 21 days or the time you can stay. ill have to check my stamps later when i get home in my passport.

If you are a husband of a philipppines citizen you can stay for up to a year but then you have to leave the country, and you have to let them know when you arrive that you are using that visa as a spouse of phils citizen. all the americans who live in the phils with their filipina wives leave the phils for a weekend once a year to fulfill their visa requirements. you cant just come and go whatever you want to their country, though you can do that if youre from mexico coming into the USA. funny how that works.

and for the most part, they dont appreciate overstays. they will usually fine you.

I never had to do that.. I'm an American Citizen..

Well I was naturalized.. I was born in the Philippines..

So my question is.. My daughter was born in the Philppines 2yrs ago.. I got her US passport last year from the USEM.

Does that mean she has to pay Over Staying Fee?

Boy, you are asking the wrong person. My friend drove me there so I have no idea where it is but I would be willing to bet that most of the local jeepney and taxi drivers know where it is. I think the office was on the second floor. The officer was really nice and even joked about my salary here in the states. good.gif

no, if you are a philippine citizen then you dont need a visa. you are a citizen returning home so to speak. there is no time limit on it. If you are born in the philippines you are a philippine citizen. you can have dual citizenship and carry 2 passports. your daughter also. however those born not in the philippines have restrictioins on their visit length.
