Hi guys I just need your help...

I'll be flying on December 14, 2007 to Florida and I'm from Cebu. I didn't get a flight which starts here in Cebu but instead in Manila...

Here's my problem...

I already booked flight in Philippine Airlines from Cebu to Manila and my international baggage allowed is 2 and 32 kilos each baggage. How many kilos are usually allowed in Philippine Airlines for Cebu to Manila? Do I need to pay excess with my baggage??argghhh going crazy here helpsmilie.gif

When fly international flight and with connecting flights at either end. The connecting honor the international baggage rules, as long you have you baggage check all the way thu. From start to finish. I hope this will help you. I fly from Phoenix, AZ. to Cebu. With transferr in Los Angele, CA. and Manila. Do not have any problem going with the international rules on baggage. Congra and good luck.

it does not cost that much so dont worry. just bring enough money. Goodluck

Piece of advice when flying international from NAIA..

Go below the suggested Check In baggage weight..

Why?

NAIA employees are crooks!! They will tell you that your baggage is over weight even if its not. Then try ask you for money for them to let you go.. Trust me.. They have connections inside the Check in booth.

Ive been a victim.. So I pass along my experience..

Don't bring any canned goods, water, anything with liquid.. IT IS NOT ALLOWED due terror alerts..

Stick to 1 carry on with weight less than 17kg.. NAIA staff harass people for that as well..

Beware...

When I had my international flight that was connected to my Manila-Cebu flight they charged me for excess baggage. I think it was under 700 peso. I had 3 suitcases and a carry on. I had about 20 kilos of chocolate alone. LOL On the way out they only charge I think 300 peso, because I left one suitcase there. I did get asked by every security screener about those little bottles that they make displays out of and put little boats inside. On the way back to the US I think I went through about 10 security screens between Cebu, Manila, Japan, Detroit, and Fort Lauderdale airports. I would just plan on having about 2,000 peso all together to cover fees and taxes. Also, if you stop in Detroit like I did, be ready to pay at least $10 for lunch at the airport because it is very expensive there, even the fast food restaurants.

What part of Florida are you, I am in Palm Beach.

i would agree about the NAIA employess are crooks laughing.gif just dont put your baggae to the maximum weight. atleast give it an allowance of 5-10lbs/box. though you can bring canned goods or liquids as long as u sealed it and put them in your baggage NOT in your handcarry. good luck and take care

I believe you have to pay excess unless your flight from Manilato Florida is via PAL too. I had 60kilos all in all but all my flights from Dipolog to Manila to San Francisco were via PAL so I didnt pay for excess luggage when I left Dipolog to Manila. Hope this helps.

You can pay for the additional luggage. Claudeth bought a lot of stuff and had to pay $70 extra.

blink.gif I guess you can call the airline and ask. Maybe if it will fit in a certain size box. If you are serious about this you probably would want to check on the largest size and max amount of pounds you can pay extra for...don't count on a connecting US flight to accomodate that though--if you have a connecting US flight.

Hi to all VJ members. I'm a little bit confused coz while I was canvassing for luggage bags yesterday I was told (by the salesman) that a total of only 2 bags are allowed in PAL. One hand carry and one check-in luggage OR I can check-in both of those (2) bags if I want to. I rechecked in the website of PAL and in my own opinion I can have the following: (kindly correct me if I am wrong )

2pieces check-in luggage (each piece not exceeding 23 kilograms),
1 carry-on baggage (not exceeding 7kgs),
1 laptop with case (that I will carry on board)
1 small handbag with camera, passport and wallet (I will carry on board)so all in all I can have
5 bags without excess baggage charge if I meet the requirements below

For tickets issued on or after 01 July 2008, the following Free Baggage Allowance shall apply:For Journeys to/from the USA, Canada and Guam (Piece System)

Mabuhay (Business) Class
Maximum of two (2) pieces with a total dimension of 124 inches (316cms) and no piece exceeding 62 inches (158 cms). Each piece should not exceed 23 kilograms (50 lbs)

Fiesta (Economy) ClassMaximum of two (2) pieces with a total dimension 107 inches (273 cms) and no piece exceeding 62 inches (158 cms). Each piece should not exceed 23 kilograms (50 lbs)

Handcarried Baggage
Each passenger is allowed to carry one piece of carry-on luggage small enough to be placed in the overhead rack or under the passenger seat of the aircraft cabin. The carry-on luggage must be within the following specifications :
size (length+width+height) shall not exceed 45 in. or 115 cm.
weighing not more than 7 kgs. or 15 lbs.
If carry-on luggage fails to comply with the required applicable dimensions and weight, carry-on luggage will be checked in and charged with the corresponding excess baggage charges (if applicable).

In addition of the free carry-on luggage allowance, a passenger is allowed to carry the following items onboard:
a laptop with case
a small handbag
a coat
wrap or blanket
a walking stick or a pair of crutches
a small camera or a pair of binoculars
a reasonable amount of reading materials
infant's food and carrying basket [/u]

Hope to hear from you.
Thanks and God bless.
