Hello
I mailed my AOS and EAD package together at the beginning of Nov. and haven't heard anything yet but we did get an appointment letter for biometrics for Dec. 4... so I think that is a good sign! (Can you check case status of an AOS or EAD online??)
I was wondering what to expect at the biometrics appointment. The letter said 9am...but is it one of those cases where you have to show up early to take a number? What documentation was asked for?
thanks
Mo

Biometrics appointment letter
Passport with Visa in it
Marriage certificate if you are using your new married name for your AOS

I showed up at mine at 12:50pm and it was at 1:00 pm. I was out at 1:05 pm.

Hi Monica. It's pretty much first-come first-served. I was in and out in about 15-20 minutes. Bring the appointment letter and your ID. The only thing they omit in the "You Must Bring" section is the marriage certificate to show the legal name change, but if your ID is in the original visa name, you probably won't have that problem. (I did because I was a K-1.)

You'll fill in a form then they'll call you up to the desk, stamp your appointment letter, then hand it back. Then they'll take your fingerprints on a pad attached to a computer, and take your picture. Extremely simple process. good.gif

Hi Monica,

I don't know the answer to the biometrics appt question, however as for checking online, you can check your EAD online. As a side note, my Brother in Law got his NOA1 in July, it didn't appear online for viewing until the end of September, just in case you are wondering why it doesn't show up for a while.

Will I be getting a new case or receipt number for the AOS and EAD? I guess won't have a number to search online until I get a NOA in the mail for them.

You said you got your appointment letter but not NOA ???? That's weird....but in any case you should have both cases numbers on your appointment letter smile.gif

Its starts with MSC XXXXXXXXXXX something like that

And there should be one for the I-485 and one for the I-765

check it out !

Edit: And if you don't have it already, you will receive a notice or receipt (NOA) for each, one for the AOS and one for the EAD, in two separate enveloppes.

just a note about hand creme - don't wear any the day of the biometrics..
also make sure you are careful before the day - as they look for large cuts etc. on your hands when you get there..

AnD be prepared to be manipulated and contorted in a million different ways!! It's a bugger to get those fingerprints!! smile.gif Pretty painless, but just a lot of adjusting and moving around of your digits!
