Delicia
I don't think I can handle another prolonged immigration process and USCIS is only up to Sept 3, 2007 I-130s for the NOA1s. If it takes 90-120 days for the NOA1 when it used to (lets say for math purposes) take 14 days, and the NOA2 took around 90 days, that means at this pace, I will get a NOA2 around August 1, 2008. Then to NVC. Lets say things go smoothly and its 90 days at NVC, puts us at completing NVC around Nov 1, 2008. 4-6 more for Montreal interview and we are at mid 2009????

Someone help me. I think I will go hang myself now.

I want to say it will probably go faster and who knows, maybe it will! The thing is, the wait times now are just really really bad. I did read that they had hired many more people, who have to be trained, but maybe that means at some point things will really start picking up.

My husband is struggling emotionally with all the crap over the last couple years and has come to the conclusion that nothing will work out for us, ever. He is very, very, depressed and I worry for him and it is hard to manage long distance. I just continue to play the cheerleader role and promise the U.S. process won't take near as long as the aborted Canadian one did, but now, I don't think this is the case. I, for obvious reasons, haven't told him of my new projected time line because it would just kill him. I, on the other hand, have a new, challenging job, which I appreciate very much as it keeps me distracted, so I am coping pretty well.

I think we might as well file for a K-3 as soon as as CSC cashes the I-130 check and just try to play both ends against the middle.

Oh Delicia, I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. I'm sorry that you're apart right now. I think having your son with your husband might be the best thing for him now if he's depressed. Please address with him that it's okay to be depressed, and if he's feeling really down, it might not be a bad thing to talk to his doctor about this. The whole immigration process is so overwhelming, and particularly when you have so many issues and complications with your process. Please know that we're thinking about you, and hope that you continue to share good news and not so good news with us so that we can help you in any way.

Hugs,

Awwww, Sweetie. (((((BIG HUGS)))))

I am so so sorry that you have had such a struggle with immigration, Delicia. It must be doubly frustrating knowing that your application to USCIS was submitted during a time of such heavy volume. I am sure it is very wearing on the both of you.

One of the things that I have learned is this...... The nice thing about time is that it passes. And, where you get to where you are meant to be, it will seem like no time at all. It always brought a comfort to me to know that, so I'm hoping it will do the same for you.

I know immigration has been a very long struggle and process for you and your husband, Delicia. For that I am sorry. But every day that passes brings you a day closer to your goal. Some days just feel much heavier than others, but it's nice to know they'll pass. The amazing thing about some people is their ability to maintain a sense of humour and to grow and to become stronger through struggle. You have that ability, Delicia, and it's a wonderful gift. Keep up the good fight. rose.gif
