::sigh::
Do you think they'll send the whole package back or will they let me off the hook with an RFE?

Not sure. My whole packet was returned for not checking a box, so your guess is as good as mine!

Did you have to pay twice?

Can you just send it in with a note? I mean, before they RFE you or the like. Just a thought.

Nope, they sent the whole packet (including the uncashed cheque) with a cover letter indicating why they sent it back. I checked the box and sent it all right back to them.

The box I somehow managed to miss was in Part 2 --Basis for petition.
In part one, if your mailing address is the same from your street address, you can leave all those spaces blank. You don't have to write N/A in them.

Here's what the form instructions say:
QUOTE
If you do not completely fill out the form or file it without the required initial evidence, you will not establish a basis for eligibility and we may deny your application
That said, in practice, USCIS tends to reject cases or send RFEs when something is missing, rather than denying them outright. If they do reject your case, hopefully you will have enough time to refile before your green card expires.
Best of luck.

Argh! I hope it's in there. I'm just not so sure now. And I'm very broke o.O
Anyway, the package was delivered this morning and signed by someone named Heinauer.

So how do you check the status on a money order?
We had just opened a new checking account and I didn't have my new checkbook yet so I sent them a money order.

I"m not sure. There is a number on here but I have no idea where'd I'd go to track it.
The Money order wasn't issued by USPS but by my bank and I haven't found anything on their website about tracking or checking the status.

If it was issued by your bank, wasn't there a stub you got from the money order that has some kind of number on it? If so and you have it, you could take it to a bank branch and ask if they can track it or not.
