My wife received an extension letter to her temporary greencard which will expire in April. When I check her status online, it says:

On January 9, 2007, we received this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

We haven't heard anything since Janary. The processing dates haven't been added for 2008, so it says that her I751 should have been taken care of in January 2007 as well.

We're worried that these things require a 90 day notice so if we need to file before her extension expires, we need to do it in February. Has anyone had experience with this and can share their story? Thanks!

You don't need to refile for removal of conditions. If the extension expires without a decision, make an appointment with your local USCIS office to get an I-551 stamp. She can also file for citizenship as soon as she's eligible. That will force them to make a decision on the I-751.

I-751 may take over a year, it used to be very common in the past and it's not uncommon now.
