Mabuhay!.. I am married to an LPR and thinking if I could file for B2 Visa to visit him in the United States.
Does anyone here encountered approval for a tourist visa in the US Embassy in the Philippines while there's a pending immigrant petition (I-130)?
How can I prove them that I have ties in the Philippines and have no immigrant intent
FOR NOW.. I just want to visit my husband there and wants to buy a wedding gown for our church wedding... soON

but no definite date yet...
Thanks a lot..

hi there! i am glad i found you in this forum because we have a very similar situation. i am also the wife of a US LPR and i also want to have the option to visit him now even if i dont want to live there yet. i am also awaiting for my immigrant petition that was filed by my husband last feb 2006.
im telling you now it's very difficult to get a tourist visa. i have tried twice already in the philippine embassy and both times i got denied even if i showed sufficient ties to the philippines. but still, it's a case to case basis and i think swertihan lang din yan. it's true what is 100 dollars if that's a chance to get a tourist visa and get to spend more time with your husband.
i will be trying my luck again next year for a tourist visa since my situation has changed a lot since the last time i applied. i already have my own busuiness here in pinas plus i also have a stable job.
if you want we could email each other the more personal details and i could help you go through your tourist visa application. i know how it feels to be helpless specially if you have really good intentions of just visiting. but it's really hard to prove that to the consuls in the embassy.
here's my email: lai_m16@yahoo.com hope to hear from you!
