Is there a minimum period of time the passport of a new immigrant (spouse of a US citizen) who enters the United States for the first time is required to remain valid? Thanks.

Maybe each consulate is different, I don't know, for Montreal it is 6 months:
"Passport valid for 6 months beyond intended entry date into the United States"
