Hello everyone. I would like some advise. My fiance amd myself plan on starting the visa process. We met when I was working in Buenos Aires and fell in love. However my work there ended and I am now in the United States. Our primary goal is to be together as soon as possible.
My question is, which is the faster route for her to enter the United States, a K1 or a K3?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Steve and welcome to VJ! smile.gif Look at the Processing Times, but in general, the K-1 processing times have been quicker. If you aren't already married, I'd recommend going with a K-1. smile.gif

Just to add:

K1 --- NON IMMIGRANT for fiancees only
K3 --- NON IMMIGRANT for spouses only
Both those cases are quicker sometimes, but end up being more expensive $$$$

CR1 --- IMMIGRANT visa for spouses only

Good luck, L.

I agree. Quicker isn't always better. If you plan to marry, I would go for the CR-1 visa. It is a longer process, but it is well worth it.

Have to agree with Mrs.Scott after looking at all the options the CR-1 is the way to go. Plus overall time is not much different than k-1 or K-3. (They all suck)

We had good luck with the K-1.

Thanks everyone. I think we are going to end up going with the K3 because we had a talk and she really wants to be married in Argentina with her family and friends. It may take a little longer, but as we all know, when she is happy, I am happy.

Well then --- ENHORABUENA!!! And when time comes, go for the CR-1. Believe me, the K3 might be quicker to process, but ends up being more expensive and also does not result in an immigrant visa!
Saludos, L.
p.s. Can I invite myself to the wedding????? Have not been to Argentina in a looooooooong time!

I suggest you do a bit more research on the K3 and CR-1.
K3s at this time are dinosaurs.
K3s can be denied AOS and be deported. Doesn't happen much but just one more thing to worry about among MANY hassles CRs don't have.
