hello all,
hope all is going well in your journeys.
i got an rfe to fix a stupid mistake on the form-- i know how to do it. my question is do I need to resend copies of the attached documents and the whole 1864 an 1864 a forms, just as before? or do i just fill out the 186 and 1864-a forms completely again and mail these, and they'll have the originals on file?

please, help! i'm trying to mail this stuff ASAP.

thanks so much.

They should have sent you back whatever you need to correct, did they? Or rather, what have they sent back to you?

You should only correct the pages they send back to you and submit whatever they have requested as 'missing' in terms of documents.

"checklist for 1-864/1864A
NVC has reviewed the financial evidence submitted. However, additional information is required to complete the financial evidence review. The checklist below indicates missing or incomplete documents. In order to make corrections you will need to download a new form at http://Travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1335.html. You will need to complete and submit a new form with the changes noted below. Please provide all requested documents and refer to page two for mailing instructions.

Part 6 Sponsor's income and Employment
[X] __________ (NAME OF SPONSOR) income indicated on the 1-864 part 25 does not correspond to that shown on the most recent tax return and W-2 (s).

I've already re-filled out the form correcting the missing information, however, do I need to recreate the ENTIRE package, including copies of tax returns, proof of residency with my father the co sponsor, etc, or can I just resubmit the form with the mistakes?

does this make more sense?
thanks

It does make sense now.

Personally I would just submit the new forms, they haven't requested that you resubmit all documents, it's not a good idea to give them more than they ask for.

That said, NVC can be tricky. I would definately call them and discuss it with an operator, just to be sure.

Their number 1-603-334-0700 (press 1 then 5 to speak with an operator)
