Hey all

I am checking my papers for the interview...
I have questions about this form DS-156
The number of my passport have 2 letter (XX000000) should I put just the number or the 2 letters too?
And about this National Identification Number: is the CPF of Brasil?

And

What happen if I print this form wrong? Can I just start another one?

Thanks
and good luck

Regards for all the wait that all you endure!

The passport number should include the letters.

National ID number can be CPF or RG, I'd use the RG since it has a picture, and this document should be shown at the interview as well, so whichever you use, it's the one you'll present (I wasn't actually asked my RG, but that's what the thinking should be).

From what I gather, if you fill it out wrong you'd have to call the consulate and tell them you need to make changes on your form. I'd triple check everything before printing it so you wouldn't have to do this.

ok, thanks for the info.
But now I am thinking...maybe I did this form once when I was just "practicing"...so, I will try again...and if the online system accept...I think that is ok, because they will just use the barcode anyway. I will know today for to know if they schedule my interview and I will ask about this too.

Thank you!

ok, I just finish my call to the embassy now.
For who need to know they said that is the CPF number. And if something is wrong on the form, is for to take the one that is printed, and fix the info there (embassy).

My husband (the Brazilian) used his RG.
I'm a USC and have a CPF, so I didn't feel that was what they're looking for...

See, here in Brazil we have RG and CPF...and ask (call to embassy) if was RG or CPF...she was very clear: CPF.
So, as some people wrote the RG ...not a problem.

I know you have an RG and a CPF. I said that I as the USC even have a CPF (from living there).

I too have a CPF number having worked there more than 180 days and paid more than $45,000 in Brazilian income taxes this year.

Oh, yes...sure, they didn´t want your CPF.
As you know, this DS-156 form is for the foreign (in my case, brazilian) to answer.

But thanks anyway

Obivously they don't want our CPF numbers. We know that the form is for our spouses - we filled it out. We're just trying to make a point that the CPF is not only for Brazilians. So, as a Brazilian, you should probably use your RG. This is just our two cents...

I too have a CPF and pay muito taxes to Brasil and the U.S.

But the CPF is the number they want.
