hi everybody.
I'm gonna be moving to the US next week.I'm wondering if somebody out there with CR1 visa could help me by answering my simple question.
JFK will be my port of entery, so I'm wondering if I'm gonna have to present any documents other than my passport with visa and the brown envolope they gave me at the consulate.am I going to need pictures or anything like this ? and how long it takes to go though customs and getting to my connecting flight ?
any help will be appreciated !

That's all you will be needing with you- brown envelope and your passport. JFK is fast with processing new immigrants however give yourself at least 3 hours gap to your connecting flight.

All you will need are the documents they gave you and your visa.

Welcome to America!!

Port of Entry is the "gate" where customs and immigrations officers will process you. After this point you will not be processed anymore.

You will still have your passport after JFK (they don't take it away from you at JFK). Which is good, if you need to present photo identifcation for boarding other flights.

Please allow more than two hours for layover between JFK and connecting flight. Sometimes, customs officials processing can take a while. That with trying to find the next terminal where you connecting flight is...you can face a time "crunch" and find yourself rushing.
