Vonicks,

The medical could be done earlier than the scheduled date. If i were u I will do it earlier because sometimes the ST.Luke's people will asked for a retest just like what happen to my friend .She had a lot of sputum and x-ray and she nearly missed her interview because she went there for a week only. Just my opinion though.. God bless.
DeeZee
It is advisable to do it in advance or earlier just to be on the safe side. There might be problems with the medical and may take more than 2 days. St. Lukes also need to forward the results to USEM and I'm not sure how many days that takes.

RandyandRina
It is better to have early medical, at least 2 weeks before the interview. It's better that you have enough time for the results just in case they find any findings that may need to be further evaluated. Good luck!
ryza
have an early medical. atleast 3weeks before the interview smile.gif
Meph
some do their medical a month before the interview...just incase they have problem with the medical, it wont affect the schedule of the interview

No need your appointment letter. Just the NOA2, pictures and passport.
My wife and amak did theirs almost 2 months early!

All visa applicants, regardless of age, need to complete a medical examination at the St. Luke’s Extension Clinic (SLEC) before the visa interview. Applicants are advised to have their medical examinations done at least one week before their interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Manila.

What should I bring to my medical examination?

Appointment letter (you may print out a copy of your appointment letter from the appointment page on our website)
Appropriate medical examination fees ($145 on peso equivalent)
Passport (valid for at least 6 months)
Two colored pictures (2 inches x 2 inches) with a white background

So does this mean that even if you have a Medical Appointment, say, on December 19, 2007 and an Interview Schedule on Jan. 3, 2008, you can have a medical exam earlier than December 19? Say for example Dec. 12?

yap the sooner the better so when u have any problem u will not rush into ur interview more on if ur bringing any kids with u , th mediacl of the kids take 3days coz of the skin test. the medical is valid 1 month prior to interview date.

Thank you for the info. I was thinking that St. Luke really follows the date stated in the appoinment letter. I thought they are strict on that and would only entertain you on the date reflected on your appoinment letter.

Thanks again. :-)

This is what I would like my wife to do also. We were just approved(NOA2) on November 20.
What you are saying is that I can send her the NOA2 and she can get her medical done??
I have calculated that our interview will be the first part of Feb., and it would be great do have things done early so that we have nothing to worry about once I get there. We can just have our papers ready and focus on the interview.
RandyandRina
unsure.gif Can someone clarify if the NOA2 is the same for CR1/IR1, K1 and K3? I think not. The best one to bring to show as the appointment letter is the print out from the IV site.

You have to have your medical and interview dates in order to do an early medical. No need the packet but you can call St. Lukes and they will have it sent over from the embassy and you can pick it up when you go there.

Friend I'm helping just took hers a month early last week with no problems.
She went there without a packet and got hers when she went there.
NOA2 is only needed to get in the door as you will get the appointment letter in the packet.

Part of the confusion for me is that Sheriff Ulings Manila Embassy K1 Visa Guide (section 4.6 on SLEC) says: "If the medical exam is taken anytime over a month before the visa interview, there is a risk that the results could be invalid, which means the beneficiary will have to take another medical exam before the visa can be approved."

However, the USEM page on the medical examination (http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3218.html) says: "Medical examinations are generally valid for 6 months".

I just got the NOA2 for Mahal ko's visa and would love to have her and the kids get medicals, as well as get the CFO attendance out of the way while I'm there from Dec 21 - Jan 5. I'm not holding out hopes that we'll get an Interview scheduled by then, so if we can proceed with Meds and CFO without Interview appt, that' be great.

You can do CFO without the interview date but not the medical without your interview and medical dates.

I don't know where Sheriff "Ulian" got that. He should correct it! Some people reschedule the interview for months and don't have problems.
As I said my wife and anak took theirs almost 2 months prior with Zero problems.

Yes! you can attend the CFO seminar in advance without the visa yet but they won't put the CFO stamp or sticker on your passport yet since you don't have the visa but only the Guidance and Counseling Certificate.
So you will need to go back again at the CFO office after you got your visa for the final sticker. Advantage of attending the CFO with visa already is that you don't have to go back again because after the seminar they will give instruction on where to get your passport stamp.

If you live in manila you can have it in advance without the visa yet and just go back after the passport w/visa is on hand, but if you don't, for me this is not advisable.
Others who lives in the provinces take the advance seminar after they had their medical.
