ok, i tried to save some money by having the injections carried out by my own doctor...but i got packet 3 yesterday and i guess they want me to spend money...on the website it only lists the injections, xray, aids and syphilis test...but in the instructions there is more!!

examination of sputum (i hope this is spit! lol) £90
DNA specimen collection £85
drug and alcohol collection £40

just not on! lol

also is the aids and syphilis test a blood test? or am i made to 'strip and spread?' blink.gif

also, in the questionnaire i will be ticking no to everything besides depression...this was 4 years ago and only caused by lack of employment and a recent split with an ex, would this mean i would have to visit a phsycologist? my doctor refered me to a phsycologist at the time but they were as much use as a chocolate teapot...this is in my doctors notes...do the knightsbridge doctors or the embassy get a look at my doctors notes? should i just tick no anyway...as it was a short lived depression and the only thing that is depressing me now is being away from my OH and the constant waiting for the embassy to follow procedure!!

The Aids and Syphylis is a blood test but they will want to examine the 'plumbing' to make sure you are the declared gender. I don't remember having any sputum, dna or drug/alchohol tests on my medical last month.

That is just a price list. You don't have to have everything on that list done. good.gif

They just take a blood sample, X-ray you and examine you externally. They do not have any access to your doctor's notes - nobody has access to your medical records without your written permission.

Yep, they might tap your stomach a few times, weigh you, check your eyesight too. I think the flat fee that you pay is 200 quid, plus any injections you have (if any) are on top of that.
