Q7 is about your current employment/income. Line 7 from the 1040 would be last years income. You want to put what you are earning now (and if that is through regular employment, it should equal what is verified in your employment letter(s) for the most part).
If your basis for your support of your spouse is your income, they care about what you are making now. If you made over 125% over the poverty line for your household size last year, but don't this year, they would want a co-sponsor. On the other hand, if you didn't make enough last year, but do this year you would qualify as the sponsor.
