USCIS and NVC are two completely different places

Don't they assigned different case number as well?

You can check with USCIS online but once your case has been transferred to the NVC it is via phone only..

Call +160 333 40700.. then follow the prompts.

NVC should acquire a 1-800 number.. My god.. Its the govt for cryin out loud..

First you get the USCIS case number... till the case is with USCIS .. till you get NOA2... till that You can check by registering on the USCIS website. After that once the case is with NVC ... you can just calll them and check .... Nothing online.

Unfortunately, you would have to call them to get status and you really need to get yourself familiarize with all the steps at NVC to know where you at and what's next. Check the NVC forums for more detailed information, tons of info especially the pinned threads.
