I just called the Embassy in PI and they said they received our packet from NVC yesterday. How long is it taking them to set up the appointments and send the paperwork packets to the finance? Anyone know? wacko.gif

I'm helping a friend with a K1 and he got the interview and medical dates from checking online 6 days after USEM received the petition from NVC.
Dates were only ONE month after USEM received the petition.
We had a senator invoved tho. Don't know if that helped or not but we are voting for him next time anyway.
No packet yet and interview is December 6!!
RUSHING BIGTIME as that was FAST.
I've seen a LOT of cases but none never that fast!

Ours are still not on their web site and it has been 7 days since they received it. Many I have seen take between 10 - 14 days. The last 4 or 5 appointments they set up yesterday and today are for med exam on 27 Dec 07 and Interview on 3 or 4 Jan 08. Good luck.

It depends...ours took like 2 weeks after USEM received it. Just keep checking the online site for appointments. You'll get your dates soon! Good luck!

It must be nice that you guys can check the embassy website for updates on your case. The Embassy in Thailand only posts the interview date once packet 3 is mailed back to them. They do not show if they have received my petition from NVC, or if they have sent out packet 3. Makes it hard not knowing.

Good luck everyone!!!

as far as i know and based on our own experience and "research" when we were still doing the K-1 process, the Philippine embassy only issues interview/medical appointment ONCE a month and that is during the 2nd week of each month, usually on the 12th or 13th of each month. This means if the embassy did not receive your papers before that cut-off, most likely you will be included in the scheduled release of appointments the following month. So its not really an issue of how many days or weeks your papers have been received, it's whether you made it to the monthly cut-off that matters.

in our case, our papers were received by the embassy June 18 (we missed the June 12 cut-off) and we got our appointment dates the following month, July 13. So my suggestion now since you did not make it to the November cut-off is for you to stay cool and relax and call again by the 2nd week of December.

As for the packet, your fiance will receive it at least one month before the Embassy Interview date.

Hello,
When I called the embassy the other day, they told me this is not the case there anymore..."the Philippine embassy only issues interview/medical appointment ONCE a month and that is during the 2nd week of each month, usually on the 12th or 13th of each month. This means if the embassy did not receive your papers before that cut-off, most likely you will be included in the scheduled release of appointments the following month."

They also told me they do K-1 interviews Monday through Friday now and used to only do them on Fridays.

My brothers fiancee never received her packets. I checked online for her appointments. She has her visa and is here already. The packets never came.

Well it's good to hear that the embassy is working double-time now...i hope it's true biggrin.gif to verify this, i wonder how many filers got their interview dates this month? and when exactly did they receive their appointments? either the embassy is working harder now or they only changed the cut-off date devil.gif

as for the interviews, yes they do it all days of the week. my interview day was Wednesday.

good luck to all of you guys! good.gif

Your timeline does not show you have received your NOA 2 so you would not call them yet. When you get your NOA 2, update your VJ timeline and then wait about a week to give them a call.

NVC doesn't have a web site where you can check the status of your petition. You have to call them.

Calling the National Visa Center (NVC):
(603) 334-0700, 1, then 5. They will ask for info on the petitioner and benefiary and your case number. They can tell you when they received the petiton and when it will be sent to the embassy and they will give you your new case number. You cannot use the automated system to check K-1 Visas as they do not load these into their automated system. You must speak with a customer service representative.

Emailing NVC: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov More information on NVC is found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html

Good luck.
