I am just curious.... I got the idea from the green bean poll....

like I mentioned in that thread, I like the cranberry jelly from the can... yum yum!! it is sooo good on the leftover turkey sandwiches too....

I did make homemade cranberry sauce one year and I didn't like it.. it tasted ok but it just wasn't the same without the jelly....

voted it don't matter - just show me the cranberries!

I like homemade. It's delicious on sandwiches the next day too!

I prefer canned but homemade is ok, too. As long as it doesn't have orange juice or zest in it. I don't want to taste anything but cranberries. No nuts or anything like that in it either.

I prefer canned too. I have given homemade many chances, but I just don't like it better than canned. My aunt has made some really nice homemade cranberry sauces, and I eat them, but I always wish there was some canned around.

yeah, same here... I liked the homemade stuff ....

I think it is the consistency I have problems with... I like the jelly texture with my turkey.....

mmm, I guess I should have been more clear in my poll... when I am referring to the canned cranberry, I am talking about the jelly stuff that comes out in one chunk

I am not a big fan either but I do like dried cranberries in these cranberry hermit cookies I make and of course the cranberry jelly...

On the Christmas menu here at the hotel one of the veggie options is:

Cornish Brie, Spinach and Cranberry Wellington accompanied by a Red Pepper Sauce

believe me I am a from scratch person normally but not when it comes to cranberry jelly...

This is something I'm not all that fussed about one way or another...

My stepfather makes a big production out of them every year and makes a big old batch of the jelly kind in little individual molds, and I guess I'd prefer the chunks of cranberries sometimes, but it doesn't really matter. If they came out of a can with the funny ridges, I'd be fine with it. THAT would remind me of my childhood and that's probably why I'd like them. Otherwise it makes no difference.

I have never tried canned cranberry sauce so I can't say......my cranberry sauce rawks tho!

I used to make cranberry ice from fresh cranberries. It is kind of like sherbet and it was wonderful. I still have the receipt somewhere around here.

I prefer a cranberry chutney. We've never had the canned jelly Marilyn, so I don't know what it tastes like.

If you like chutney, you should be thankful you've never had the canned crap.

I brought fresh cranberries. Never tried, so I don't know if I'll like. I didn't like the jellied canned one nor the other canned one, it's yucky.

you do have to cook those, Nessa, & add sugar - otherwise they wll be very bitter!
