Can you chose the address where the courier sends your passport once the visa has been processed?

We will likely have moved out of my current address by then and staying at my parents.

Thanks,

Andrew

You will need to change your address with the embassy first. The courier can only delivery to the address that the embassy has.

can you change your address at the embassy at the interview, or do you need to send them a letter?

I would do it in advance. I had to change my address and what I did was call the expensive embassy line, get a reference code and then e-mail them all the info. I gave them the case number, previous address and new address. I received an e-mail a few days later saying it was all fine.

I did not change my address with the embassy and i had the courier deliver my visa to my place of work with no problems, but that was last year, maybe things have changed now.

Admittedly my interview was over 2 years ago, but they asked me for an address that I would be at to be able to sign for the package. They said a work address would be fine, so I would think it might be able to be sent anywhere that you will be.

Remember though, that you will have to show ID to the courier (at least I did) so make sure you have something with you.

Edited to add;
They delivered mine on a Saturday, so be careful if you put a work address.

When we were at the Embassy in June, they said we could have it delivered wherever we wanted as long as the designated person was actually there and could show ID (as ladybird mentioned above). We chose to have it delivered to our flat because we didn't want to risk having it delivered to my office if I was delayed on my way into work.

Well, geez. I was totally off on that one.

EDIT: Although unless you've received everything from the embassy and are literally just counting the days to the interiew, it's better to change your address with the embassy.

Thanks one and all! Many helpful answers! I take it you can't designate a time? If you miss it, can you ring them to schedule a time or pick it up?

I am waiting for my interview date; still no news from embassy, but at last state dept in dc say there system shows a date: Jan 15th! So hopefully that will be ok as my wife's uk visa runs out end of Jan! We are moving to my parents 4 days before, so prob get it delivered there.

Thanks again good.gif
