Hi everyone!
Hoping somone might be able to shed some light on this topic. We just got our NOA2 this week! yay! But was wondering is it possible to ask the NVC to send our K-1 visa case to Vancouver as opposed to Montreal? I am in Toronto, but would be willing to go to Vancouver to step up the date of my interview.
Any advice as to who and how to ask for this would be greatly appreciated smile.gif[/size]

Awhile back they used to allow these kind of transfers, but now it's now extremely hard to get cases transferred from MTL to VAN. From what I heard, the only reasons they'll allow it is if you show residency within the Vancouver consulate jurisdiction (Manitoba and westward).

You can always email the MTL consulate to check though. You might get lucky smile.gif

And even then Vancouver has to agree to it. Lately they have been really cracking down on transfers.

One can always ask, all they can do is say no!! I do believe the ones that were successful stated they would be working in the van area for an extended amount of time.

Hi - we sent an email to vancouver asking for permission to transfer from mtl to van. but received an email back saying that we would have to have residency there. we sent the email in august so you never know.. you may have luck now. good luck to you!

There was a member here who actually moved all the way to Vancouver just to have her interview there, and speed up the process.
If you happen to have friends or family over that way that will help put you up for a couple months, go for it!
