Just wanted to share with you folks - after about 6 months of looking for a better job, I finally landed one. I used to work the afternoon shift at a University in the Silicon Valley, and I was so sick of it, there were times I just wanted to give my notice and leave. Now I got a job at a community college, and it will be the normal white collar schedule, 8 to 5, M-F, and the job itself is absolutely fantastic - I will be supporting grants, working on all kinds of projects and I won't be at the front desk any more
I'm surprised, but it actually wasn't that hard to get that job. I'm kinda amazed with myself, cause I have been severely depressed lately, and I went to the job interview right after I saw my therapist and I literally cried in her office, so to say I felt down is to say nothing. Apparently, the crappier I feel, the more employers like me
So, jobs are available, they're up for grabs, and we all have a chance. Keep pursuing your dreams, and there's no reason you won't be able to achieve them.
Good luck to you all
